Default 9 days out from VGS.

    Hi everyone,
Just wNted to get myself involved in the group. I'm noticing that I can't tell if I'm hungry or full. It's so strange. I've had an aversion to all of my protein shakes since surgery. They make me nauseous. I've been living on yogurt and tomato soup with milk. Next week I go to the next phase of eating. Any feedback is welcome. Has anyone else felt this way??
    Have a great weekend!

Welcome! The first week or so I didn't really want to put anything in my stomach. I found premade shakes to taste terrible, but when I made my own with fortified non fat milk, powdered peanut butter and a slice of banana or with non fat greek yogurt and a strawberry it was much easier to get down. I also drank protein chicken broth, sugar free jello, blended lentil soup, tea and Oikos Triple Zero yogurt. I also put fruit flavored protein concentrates in my water. My favorite dinner was "chipless" nachos. Basically mashed beans warmed up and blended with green chilies, hot sauce, a bit of reduced fat cheese, cilantro, and sometimes a bit of fat free sour cream or plain greek yogurt. It was super soft and absolutely friggin delicious.

I was the same way. Took months for protein shakes not to make me nauseous anymore. It gets better as the diet progresses and you have new options. Just take it slow and hang in there.

My hunger came back on day two of post op. I was having cravings and hunger hunger pangs at night. I started adding Raw Fit for weightloss protein powder or Tera's Whey Hunger Control protein powder to my homemade proteins and that has helped me tremendously. Definetly try making your protein drinks, so much tastier than what is out there! you can add any berry or fruit, as well as cold brewed coffee, and other flavors!

Hope it gets better for you!

GSF members must be getting tired of reading that I'm not a "smoothie guy." That being said, your nachos sound like something I could use as a go too
meal. Just tried a fruit punch flavored Isopure clear protein drink today, and I liked it ok. I'll find out
    for myself in 4+ weeks!

I'm just a few days ahead of you, and today was the first day I could drink a whole HALF a premier shake. I def don't get even close to 64 oz of fluid and protein? Well, let's just say I'll worry about that when I can actually eat something. Right now I'm just trying to drink enough and eat a few bites of anything.

I couldn't stomach the smell, let alone the taste of any protein drink post-op.

I started sprinkling unflavored protein powder into and on everything.

Best of luck as you continue your journey!
