Default Almost 3 months post op and losing only 1 pound a week average

I'm not complaining BUT I'm averaging losing about 1 pound a week. I feel that this is slow weightloss: I was hoping at this stage to lose about 2 lbs per week. I have lost 45 pounds since my start of preop diet to date so trust me: I'm thankful to God for it. I just wonder is this rate slow or normal for those post ops out there. I drink water, exercise on treadmill 4 x week but have recently upped my protein. I just stopped my snacking on peanuts. Should I just stop stressing and chill?

You're looking good to me. I'm 48 pounds in 98 days (including preop) and even with the 'guy' advantage, we are both looking on track with similar losses. If you look at it overall weight loss, we both have averaged around 1/2 lb per day. Dr Hamm told me that for around every 25 pounds you can expect the next 25 to take twice as long. That's been pretty accurate. What I like is that even though I'm slowing down, I'm still going down AND losing weight is no longer in the forefront of every decision I make

I've been losing from 1 to 3 pounds per week since surgery and have been worried about my slow weight loss as well. I asked my primary care physician about it this past week and she said that it's pretty normal for someone who hasn't had complications to the point where they could hardly eat at all. She said she was glad I was losing it at this rate and after that I can't remember the rest of her reasoning.

Anyway, I am very happy that I have lost what I've lost ocnsidering that prior to all of this, I was just gaining and gaining. I have been reading posts here and there and grained from some of them that if I'm not happy with what I'm doing, that I need to relook at everything and make some changes somewhere. I've recently started eating a salad nearly every day for lunch, it's just a small one but at least it's greens and they have made a big difference in helping me to be really regular more so than I have been since I had surgery.

I don't know if it's a sign of things to come but I was pleased as punch when I lost 4 pounds this week. That's more than I have in quite a while during one week.

Now I just need to keep plugging away. It's so funny that I feel so good and yet when I look in the mirror I'm still so big. I'm just going to keep on keeping on and remind myself that one year from now will still be one year from now rather I do this or nor so I"m going to do everything I can to continue down this wonderful, tough, rewarding path.

All of that to say, you are not alone.

    Starting pre-op diet weight: 357
    Surgery date weight: 337
    Goal weight: 150

Thank you tina833. We can do this, lol! My problem is that I keep comparing myself to others on the forum and I have to get it in my "thick" head that everyone is unique and different. I'm going to start by changing my mindset - TODAY. Also, i'm going to stop weighing myself daily and move to weighing 1 x per week.

My weight loss has slowed down again. It seems to go in phases, stall, loose, slow then loose. Its going down ( not going on ) and every week, well most weeks Im a bit less than the previous week lol
