Default Checking in nearly 3 years later

3 years ago I began my seriously considering the procedure and now it's been a whole lifetime since.... I decided quickly to fly to San Diego and travel to Tijuana to have Dr Elias Ortiz do my procedure. I was 35 at the time and not fully living life. I had a Hysterectomy the year before and I spiraled into a depression, like a shell of my former self. I was over 300 lbs and really struggling. So, I felt like I didn't have that much to lose. I am truly grateful that I did it. It's been such a gift. I have not had any complications, but I do have severe heartburn and have to take meds for that. Otherwise,I feel great! I hit 185 and I had a tummy tuck this past December. It's not so much about getting all skinny and "dieting down". I stopped dieting and started eating to live. It's been an amazing tool that I have really appreciated in my life to help me reach my goals.

I just wanted to check in and let any of my old sleever friends to know (and anyone new considering it) that it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Was it hard? Yes. Was it painful? Yes. Was it costly? Yes. Was it still up to me to make daily decisions? Yes. Is it ongoing? Yes. Is it all worth it? Absolutely. I have my life back.

Thank you for checking in to let us know it can be done. I sometimes get scared I'm doing it wrong. I would love to hear any more words of wisdom for someone who is 2 months in.
