Has anyone done sleeve surgery with Dr. Marcelo Hernandez before?
Hi Leticia9,
I did not, but you may be able to find others by using the "search the forums" feature at the top left of this page by typing in Dr Hernandez and/or searching the groups for his name.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck as you continue your journey!
I am wondering the same thing....My surgery date is June 15th with him. I asked the weight loss agents about him and they said he was new to the team but Dr. Almanza hand picked him. When is your surgery? I tried putting his name in the search bar but only came up with one....
Good question. I am aiming for mine on June 10th if approved with Dr. Hernandez. I am curious as well.

Hi! I just got back from my surgery with Dr Hernandez. Everything went well. He did a leak test, no leaking! I got an X-ray of how my stomach looks... It looked the same as the patients that had the more experienced doctor, I'm glad I saved the $700 and went with him!
I am having surgery with Dr. Hernandez in 22 days and I am so glad to hear such good things! ANyone have any suggestions about anything you dont normally think of? I was told they take you out shopping if you like, what was that like and how much do you tip? Every ride or at the end? Whats your suggestions? Hows the wifi in room and does anyone have att and how did your serice work? Do they have a DVD player or do you need to bring one cause I do not understand Spanish that much... anythng you wish you'd known first?
thanks
ok down 35 lbs not even a month yet....
things to bring back on airplane as no one told me.... my blood sugar dropped, and of course you cant drink nothing but juice.... I had to wait to get to Chicago to buy some life savers....
wifi works great in hotel, hotel was decent, there are several english channels to watch... forget the buying flea market too many beggars... just walk around you can find Sam's club, little shops in trip malls... very nice people to deal with in TiaJuana not like 15 years ago.... nothing like that.
bring walking shoes and socks for sure and loose clothing.
now the not so fun stuff: at home make sure soft toilet paper you gonna need it. chicken broth in a can or box... not bullion cubes, easy on the sodium. drain the wounds, might have to squeeze ...this is normal but keep doing it for about 14 days, keeps from getting infection. DONT TRY TO REMOVE stitches yourself or any unprofessional GO TO YOUR DR... these stitches are tight... not painful .... do not use neosporin, it isnt that kind of wound, they give you antiseptic spray in your kit to take home, and take the antibiotics they give, you have to break them open and it smells horrible but put in glass of water and hold your nose... and walk walk walk and get your protein in, tough to do I still have a hard time getting 75 grams of protein...
