    Lightbulb Morning agony!!

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post to the forums, even though I am 500 and something days post op. I have had a somewhat average journey you could say. I lost the majority of my weight in the first 3-5 months and have now leveled out a little UNDER my goal weight.

I will go into a detailed recap of some hard personal, mental, and physical struggles I have gone through in another post, but i will keep this one to the point.

I am unable to eat in the morning. and when i say unable to eat, i mean I can eat because i am usually very hungry and would love to be able to have some eggs, or light muffin etc etc. but 90% of the time it comes with a terrible price!!

By this i mean the most agonizing pain I have ever had 10 times over! I have done some research, and it has some similar symptoms to dumping syndrome, but its more of a "Sever" dumping syndrome.

Almost like a text book this is how the symptoms begin and eventually end.

    Stage one
20-40 minutes after eating in the morning(actually let me clarify, after eating soon after I wake up from sleeping) i start to feel nauseated.

Stage two Nauseus feeling becomes much worse and mild cramping sets in

Stage three I go sit on the toilet and beg god that he stops it before it comes and prepare for the most agonizing, painful, life changing experience one could imagine!!

    Stage four
For the next 30-45 minutes I am in the worst pain i have ever been in! A constant level 9 pain, with spurts of level 1,000,000 every 10 minutes for about 60 seconds each. During this time I produce thick saliva that is so thick i can barely even wipe it from my lips (still have no idea why that is) let me emphasize the pain. The first time I had it, my wife almost called 911 because I was literally crying/screaming in agony in the bathroom (not very manly i know, but true nonetheless)

Stage five Diarrhea and tears of joy and relieve!

Now, i have done some reading in other forums and some woman who have experienced similar incidents have compared the pain to that of child labor/birth. This pain changed my life and I have a new found respect for mothers of all species.

Has anyone had similar problems with eating soon after they wake up from sleeping??

Also, I have had this about 5 times in the last 500 days and I have only had it when i eat soon after I wake up.

OhMGoodness Gracious! What have your medical doctors or surgeons say this is??? I had a milder, but similar feeling yesterday after two tablespoons of broccoli cheese soup. Cramping was so bad I was afraid to crunch over, so I walked off (you know like doing circles in the kitchen).

Please keep us posted as to what your doctors are saying it might be.

I don't eat right away when I get up. I'm not sure what you mean by right away though. My routine is get up, sip a diet hot chocolate for about 1/2 hour. Then I make scrambled egg and a piece of toast. The only time I got sick was when I got right out of bed and sipped coffee immediately with my prenatal vitamin.

So if you are talking about going directly from bed to eating, just wait awhile. If you don't have this problem with your other meals, it may very well be your sensitive stomach in the morning.

I'm not sleeved yet and I cannot eat within at least an hour of getting up....it just makes me nauseated, nothing like what you're experiencing, but I think our stomachs need time to 'wake up' too.

THat is awful and I'm sorry you've gone thru that. Once is enough, let alone 5 times! THe saliva thing, I've experienced this when I ate too much. I guess you're just sensitive and need to avoid eating in the morning, but I would definitely talk to your doctor. THe diarrhea would worry me. It almost sounds like a either a need to for probiotics or have a food allergy. THe most potent probiotics are from a company called California Probitotics. Maybe try to get your gut bacteria back in balance?
