    Default It's real now

I have my surgery date and I'm super excited. Sure there's things I'm concerned about but I've thought long and hard and am ready for a complete lifestyle change. Why do people always want to tell me why I've made a bad decision? I'm sure that lots of people know someone who had trouble with the procedure but why tell me? No, I don't want reflux but I already have it. No, I don't want to throw up but compared to becoming a diabetic or having a massive heart attack, it can't be that bad. Yes, I know this is a permanent change, I need one!

I'm experiencing the same thing. A lot of people are telling me that I made the wrong decision especially since I'm going to Tijuana to have it done. But I'm not letting them bother me because they don't have to live with the weight issues that I'm living with and the pain and the breakdown of my body parts. I'm tired of my legs hurting my back hurting my neck hurting ect. I think making a lifestyle change is the best thing I could have done my surgery is scheduled for June 7th and I am excited and cannot wait I even have the days marked down on my calendar. I'm doing a countdown. So don't let the negativity to tell you or damper spirit you keep pushing forward and do what you know you need to do for you

    Welcome!
I told very few people. Only those closest to me.
I have standard replies to negative people:
    "Thanks for your input."
    "Perhaps."
Those stop them in their tracks!!!
I did this for me and my health. It's no one's business what decisions I make for myself.

I also only told 3 people outside of my family. Since my Dr also fixed my hiatal hernia, when someone asks about my surgery that's what I tell them. I figured that it's nobody's business.

When my sister asked me why I was having the surgery, I replied "Because I'm too fat". She replied, "Who isn't?"

I am still adjusting to my new eating habits. So the only advice I can offer is: practice, practice, practice!

When I told my sister she said you did it on weight watchers before. I told her I was never this high, I have gained over 100 pounds in a 3 years, in my life and it would take forever, because I have had a brace on my foot for 4 months and found out yesterday I have to wear it another 4 months and it makes it uncomfortable to walk. She's probably my biggest sabatour. If she has any issues she stopped telling me. I only told one person at work and she has the band so we can be Bariatric buddies lol
    STARTING WEIGHT 237

My mom & sister said the same thing: you lost weight with Jenny Craig! I responded yes and with Atkins and Nutri-System and Weight Watchers and just about every fad & pill out there. The issue isn't that I can't LOSE the weight, it's that I regain it, and then some.

    That stopped their naysaying.
