My name is Alan and I am new to the forum and site. I am 29 days away from surgery and I can't wait. I started this process at nearly 500 lbs and so far from Dec when the process began I have lost 65 lbs. I am both excited to move forward with my journey but I am also concerned about any complications with surgery. I now I'm in good hands with my surgeon but in this day and age you never know. I live in Florida about an hour from Orlando on the east / atlantic ocean side and thats about it for me. If you have any questions don't hesitate to message me and thanks for reading.

Good Luck! This must be so exciting for you. My surgery is June 2, I am a little nervous and very excited for a new begining.

Surgery was a cake walk for me. No complications. You re gonna love your sleeve because you are going to lose a lot of weight in a short time.

I'm also in FL...Hampton Beach on Hampton Lake between Waldo and Starke.

I had my surgery in St Augustine. I had several severe complications and it had NOTHING to do with my surgeon. The same thing happened when I had my gallbladder surgery.

If you've thoroughly vetted your surgeon (I did), you should be OK. MOST do not have complications. I'm in the 2 % that do have them.

Welcome and wishing you the best of luck - I love the area of FL you are in! I have good friends in Melbourne and visit often.
As everyone said - make sure you check out your surgeon and if you are comfortable you should be good to go - I was very lucky - had no complications at all - was up walking around a couple hours after surgery and home the next day. Wish I could have come home the same day, but they require an overnite stay with the sleeve. Follow your Dr.'s and NUT's advice.
