Did anyone miss me?
LOL
Don't answer that.
I missed you.
Really -- have wondered how you're doing.
How ARE you doing?

All has been well. I have been traveling quite a bit and relaxing. The book is finished, but, I am having reservations about publishing it. The finished product isn't even close to the outline I drew up prior to starting it. I'm not sure how relevant it is for newly sleeved individuals. I wanted the book to be a primer for those a couple of months post op. I wanted to present my opinions on how to lose weight with the sleeve all while avoiding stalls and living in a non sleeved world. Newbies all need help with this. I know I did in the beginning. As I went forward with the book, I did interviews with many members here on the board and those results took me in a direction I wasn't anticipating when I started. That direction is the source of my conflict.
I have found several publishers that want to put it out there and I am also mulling a self publishing angle too. But, as of now, I am hesitant to put it out there until I am sure the content is exactly what I think will be helpful and relevant. As of now, I have very little in the book for newbies and tons of stuff for those that are a year out and also at goal weight.
So for now, I lurk, read, and reach out via pm to those that I think would benefit from some no nonsense advice. I have lots of "pen pals" on here and we converse daily via my personal email address. I hear from those that I've helped along the way and they report in with successes and struggles and we work through both of them together. It's actually very rewarding to have a positive effect on some of the members of this forum.
So, as of now, tinman is back and is ready to stir the pot when it needs stirring.........
Ann.....how's that talking dog of yours?
Robert, it's good to hear from you. And I'm very happy to hear that you're doing so well.
I am sad to report that the amazing, wonderful "talking dog" has gone over the Rainbow Bridge. We will always love her and miss her. Her best advice was, "Isn't life amazing?!" and "Let's go walking -- now!"
I'm through losing weight and hanging out at 135 pounds. Never thought I would be so svelte. Coming up on my second surgiversary this coming August. However, I have yet to fly over Vegas in a yellow bathing suit and am still waiting to see any evidence you actually did that.

LOLOLOLOL.....I have the overwhelming need to be factual in my stories. So, here we go. It was a yellow Speedo. I also referred to it as a banana hammock. I flew over Fremont street on a zip line in my Speedo. I then hopped in a cab, went to the Bellagio and answered an ice bucket challenge. A video was made in front of the big fountains and got the ice water was dumped on me by an Elvis impersonator. In the background, I had a person with a boom box playing "Hunk of Burning Love" whilst Elvis dumped the water. And yes, alcohol was involved.
This was all done because......well.....after losing 265 lbs....I could.
The video resides somewhere on Youtube. I can't find it so I'm comfortable that no one else can either.
However, because it's you Ann, I invite you to try and find it. I'd love for you to see me in my banana hammock.....lol.
Hey Robert. Just read your post on the book. Perhaps you are exactly in the right direction. For as long as I have been on this site your mantra has always been post surgery info. I imagine if you really wanted to narrow it all down a bit you could spend quite a bit of time and information on the first month and the first two months etc. etc. By the time you hit a year you can write another new book because issues after year or different issues. Issues from year one to year two are totally different than the first year. Year 2-3 I think our make or break. It seems to be where old habits begin again and had we as former overweight people reign them in so wedo not fail. Ahhhh psychology at its best.
The only thing Robert that I can tell you was keep in mind that everyone is not of the same frame of mind that you are. Your success has inspired me because I have followed you from the get-go but there are other people that are not as strong in mind as we are and with that knowledge you need to cater to them and their needs. It's just not enough to say this is what works do it. Lol ( though they should) lol
I am thrilled though to hear that your book is written and glad to see that you're back :-)
