    Default Tummy Tuck?

For those of you who have had this, could you share your experience? How bad was it? How long was the recovery time? Like how long until I could get back to running? (I'm the kind of person who hates sitting still, doing nothing.)

I'm a big chicken, but getting rid of my flabby tummy would be cool. I feel pants would fit so much better. It looks almost flat in clothes, so I need to weigh the plusses and minuses.

I love my new shape! My waist is 29 inches! Wish I could have my legs and arms done, but sooo expensive!

Well since you asked I had mine done in Jan of 2015 - it hurt like holy ungodly hell for a week - swollen for a month and now April 2016 I can scratch my stomach and feel NOTHING - the numbness is strange but common I guess. I had friends call and check on me afterwards and I was like oh HOLY MOTHER OF GOD lol It's worth it but it's not fun that's for sure. I told a few people that I now knew what it felt like to do a million sit-ups in an hour. I didn't have much to take off - but he found 8 inches someplace. He actually was conservative in the removal cause I still have a little (in my mind at least) that could stand to get tightened up. Over all it was worth it. CosMed in Tijuana will do a full mommy makeover for under 10 K - 6500 I think it is. I've been there for another procedure - I had my TT done locally and it cost 6500 alone for that. The facility and doctors are very nice. http://cosmedclinic.com/pricing-estimate/

sraebaer -- I haven't has plastics and doubt that I will.

But on another forum (Bariatric Pal) there are a lot of threads there about plastics post-WLS. Someone is going through it right now and posting pix of the process. I don't think you have to be a member there to read the threads.

lol I'm a bit of a smart ass - seriously I was so miserable every time I went to put on a bikini and still hated the rolls of blubber. It was way worth it.

Thanks guys. I keep thinking. About how long was your recovery time? Like how long until you could go about all your normal daily activities, work, exercise, etc. (I'm a teacher, and summer is really short!)

I have just gotten approved through my insurance for lipectomy. I am very nervous and not sure if I should do it right away or wait until it gets older outside.

A gastric sleeve took me from a 46 inch waist to a 38 inch waist, losing 100 pounds along the way.
My tummy tuck and flank liposuction took me down another 20 pounds (not typical, per my plastic surgeon, he said 7 pounds was the norm) and my waist reduced from 38 to 34, and my midsection has the faint makings of a six-pack now.
I look at it this way: sleeving made me look good again....tummy tuck made me look great. I'm a happy camper.

I will be getting a tummy tuck, breast lift and reduction eventually. I used to have a 26 inch waist in my teens and 20's. It was a beautiful thing.i used to wear a lot of midriff baring tops- which you can get away with when you're young. At 41, I wouldn't wear one even if I had the body, and I don't think I will ever be a size 26/27 in jeans anymore, but I bet I could get somewhat close. (maybe between 29 and 33)?

Congrats to all who have done it and good luck to those who are planning to have it done. Go for it!

As a side note, I had a breast reduction and lift (no implants) in 2008, after I got rid of 60 pounds of baby weight. I really looked pretty good and the recovery was way easier than it has been for WLS. I was planning on doing the tummy tuck later on but then I gained 50 lbs between 2009-2011 and then another 25 or so after that. It ruined the effects of my reduction and lift. The key is to keep the weight off or you'll end up like me- all stretched out again. Wasted time and money because I let myself go. I could kick myself but no use crying over spilled milk!

I too debated a lot on this but finally did it last January of this year and I'm extremely happy with my results. Im a mom, I had two boys but I gained over 55 pounds with each child and I lost it all very fast, but it left me with severe stretch marks and loose skin. I'm still on my weight loss journey but so happy I did the procedure and my "mommy pouch" is gone. Thanks to my good doctor, Dr Rino Lorenzo and his team in Manila. I love my new tummy !

I'm having my tummy tuck and thigh lift November 16th and it can't get here quick enough. So excited to see what's going to happen to my stomach rolls and crepe thigh skin.
