Welcome and congratulations on making this life changing decision. I still in preclearance and have not completed the required 90 day medical observation. I've completed my sleep apnea, cardiogram and endoscopy. I met with the psychiatric doctor, and have an excellent nutritionist, in fact Elana (nutritionist) recommended that I checkout this forum. The preop medical doctor I was matched with is fantastic and I am keeping him as my primary physician. I go to this office on April 26 for a heart ultrasound. That would mark my 90 days and then its just a matter of insurance approval which I have been informed takes another couple of weeks :-/
You have taken the first step and that is huge! One thing I have learned from the preop process is that the sleeve surgery is not a a fix all, certainly it is a tool to help those of us who have years of trying and failing. I read recently from another forum member that it will not cure "head hunger" and how real that is for those of us who may have food addictions. It is certainly something I have to seriously think about and plan for.
Again welcome! You will get a wealth of information from folks here.
Xoxoxo

Hi everyone, just throught I'd follow up....so I ended up changing from Dr Choi in FL to Dr. Titus Duncan in Atlanta, GA for personal reasons. I got sleeved on 10/3, so I'm about 3 weeks post-op. I'm doing ok, but it's certainly a huge adjustment. I'm glad I prepared early, but I still go to support meetings and counseling to help with issues that still impede my progress.
If I can give any advice to anyone out there that has not had their surgery yet -- you need to understand that life does not stop after surgery, and the old you does not just go away. This is HARD WORK. When you have had surgery, you have to fight even harder. That's why I'm still getting help with issues I'm having with controlling my eating. Please surround yourself with a good support system and be prepared to FIGHT.
