Smart idea! Those type of events look like so much fun!
I've been dying to do the Warrior Dash. But first - my daughter and I (she's 8) are doing a 5k at Disneyland in September. On 4/9 I start a 10 week kickboxing fitness challenge that meets 6 days a week. I'm really excited for that. I'm ready for some new fitness challenges. I'm not excited for the "before" picture taking. *sigh*

wow! that's look tougher than a Warrior Dash or those types of courses.

I'd definitely start doing Crossfit to train for that! And do a few Mud Run/Warrior Dash type of things to prepare.

What a great goal to aspire to! I just want to get off the sofa! lol

I just looked up "Crossfit." It looks pretty cool. I might try that sometime.

I just started at Gold's Gym. They offer a bunch of free classes, and have personal trainer options at different payment levels.

My real goal is to someday be a disaster responder. I am just using the obstacle course thing as a way to be able to show anyone exactly what I want to be able to do. I figure if I can do everything that people are doing in these events, then I am ready for practically any disaster environment.

some of the things you see in that video done in Crossfit workouts....like the kettles bells and burpees.

you can do burpees anywhere, but most gyms won't have kettle bells....just regular dumb bells. Crossfit will also get your upper body in shape.
