So I 1st thing I am glad I found this site I have been reading a lot of the posts, and I have to say it very uplifting reading a lot of the positive results yall have had. I am just finishing my 3 week liquids only post op diet I had scrambled eggs this morning. and it went down real smooth and I had no trouble, my question what sensation's can you describe to me that you felt when your new stomach had enough in it. I am just nervous about over eating and being in pain ( the overeating is what got me here in the 1st place) haha. also any advice or insights yall could provide go further will be great.

It's kind of hard to explain... for me, the thought of taking another bite felt disgusting. Like the food didn't taste good anymore. Your body just knows. Good Luck!

It's like a pressure in the stomach, and often after, when full, I get the hiccup! but I also get the hiccup if I'm hungry...basically I try eat slowly and always stay below half a cup per sitting, just for safety.

I never feel hungry all I do is follow the recommended amount. Do just what you doctor told you to do. he should have given you a list to follow. Do just that do what the list says

I asked about this at my NUT appt. and she said in the beginning, measure and weigh rather than look for body signs to rely on is the way to go as you learn what your own signals are. And then you know you are NOT overeating. Pals who are sleeved have described in in very different ways from one another. They also say it's hard. I guess it's like asking what labor feels like...people describe it differently! LOL

I dunno when I'm full now til it's too late unless I am weighing and measuring... I'll keep eating, so, I will rely on 1 oz at a time until I am sure I have learned some body cues.

I know a lot of people don't know they are full until it is to late and then the pain. I like many other have a sign I get. When I am full I get a single hiccup and that means no more. Others have told me they sneeze or get watery eyes. I was about 3 months out when I started to understand what full was without over doing it. I tried to keep my meals to 4 ounces but many times this was to much and the hiccup stopped me from over eating.

When i over ate today my first eggs it almost wanted to come back up i had to stop and take deep breaths and then had the hiccup... it was not a good feeling

How do you overeat when you are on liquids?! I'm still in the full liquid stage of the post-op diet. I can take bigger than a "sip", but can't gulp (and that's ok). I'm drinking my protein. I mainly eat soup - and I can use a regular soup spoon for that. Should I not be?? I'm glad I can eat/drink without it hurting - but thought I wouldn't be able to eat the whole can of soup (I can and do......I add protein to it).
I'm not yet two weeks out and I've hit a stall :/ I know I'm not drinking all of my water but I am darn close. I'm getting at least 60g of protein each day.
I don't want to kick a gift horse in the mouth, but I don't feel like I had surgery (other than the constant gurgling from my stomach).

I wonder what will happen when I get to the pureed stage.....I wonder if a few bites will fill me up?

Yea I feel like I have not surgery either I been eating a lot of protein and just start to hiccup after I eat so weird but sometimes I wonder if he took anything out

I have 2 cues that I am full. First I start getting the burps (like there's no room left in my stomach for gas) and secondly it feels like my bra band is way too tight. When I was on liquids I didn't get a definite clue that I was full because I had lots of gas for the first month.

This is probably strange, hut my shoulders begin to hurt. Right across my back through my shoulder blades???? Strange, but it always happens.

Me too, I get pressure between my shoulder blades - that's when I know I've overdone and eaten too quickly. Slow and steady is the key. I am able to eat now, with being one month out, 2 hardboiled eggs, chopped with celery and a little mayo. I'm good with that and it's 12g of protein.

Thanks for saying that.I start burping and then the middle of my bra feels too tight.I honestly have not felt like i had surgery.my friends and family members had the gags nausea and pain.I had the same symptoms as you but didn't relate them to surgery because so mild.thanks thanks

Maaaan , I wish my body would give me some kind of definite signal like that. I eat till it's too late, then have to run to a sink to urp out the excess.
