    Default Surgery Tomorrow

Well, here I sit sipping my clear protein (Syntrax Wild Cherry) getting ready for what I hope is not just stomach altering but life altering as well. Haven't had time to be nervous but I know I am. I have chosen not to tell anyone but my husband in an effort to avoid any negativity. That has been the most difficult part. I am wondering how I will adjust eating so little in front of friends and family without constantly saying I am not that hungry and them asking me lots of questions. I know it will all work out but I have been thinking about that.

Wish me luck and I will see you soon with a sore tummy and a new outlook on my life!

Im in the same boat. I have only told my brother and his wife and of course my husband knows but I havent told my mother. My surgery date isnt set yet but its to be sometime in June. I really want to tell my mom but since she has a bad heart and tends to worry over everything Im waiting till after the surgery is done. She lives in another state so keeping it hidden isnt the problem. As far as anyone asking me about my weight loss and eating habits after surgery I will have no problem telling them what I had done and letting them know my health means more than what they think about it. Good luck to you.

How exciting for you! I remember the day before my surgery and it was a mix of nerves and excitement to start the new me. I didn't tell my parents either until after the fact. They also live in another state, so is easy to get away with But they have been very supportive of having the surgery, so that's a relief. Honestly, how can anyone fault you for wanting to be a better you? I have found the people that have something negative to say, are just jealous and don't like it that I'm now smaller than them Good luck, you will do great!

Good luck to you!! You will be exactly one month behind me.
Dont worry about not eating in front of people, you will be able to eat again...also, you will end up telling people, in the end this is your life, and anyone that has anything negative to say can shut up.
Best of luck and keep us updated.

On the one hand, I understand not wanting to worry people unnecessarily, especially your parents. On the other hand, being a parent, I can't imagine how hard it would be to deal with something happening to my child during surgery and them not telling me ahead of time about the surgery.

I've recently had to explain to my adult child how it would make me feel better to know that he is going on a trip or running in a marathon ahead of time instead of learning about it on Facebook when everyone else does. I just love him so much and want the chance to pray for his safety. When he was younger, he would not have understood why this matters to me but now that he has children, he is better able to get these kind of crazy needs.
