Anyone ever worry their sleeve might not work even though it is working? I know this is psychological but I get this feeling like daily. I do think my weight loss is going well but this feeling plague me daily.
Hey Teriona, no worries, it's normal to have doubts! I have the same feeling sometimes...after failing so many times at diets (well I actually failed at maintaining but whatever!) it was one of the question I had for my surgeon during my last post-op. He said I was doing just fine! I lost 8 kgs pre-op, 10 post-op (in two months) and I was wondering why my weight loss was not faster....my nut said I was eating a balanced diet pre-op so my weight loss is normal ...I guess the goal is to look at the bigger picture: my surgeon said I should lose 50kgs in one year, I still have 10 months to lose 32 kgs, seems doable...anyway, a day with no gain is a victory isn't it? :-).....and I need to work out more!! we are doing good!!!!take care

You'll be successful if you use the tool correctly. You have to find what works for you when it comes to food intake. Carbs are my worst enemy so I did a low carb/fat diet for the past year to lose the weight. Find an exercise plan that works for you. For me it was walking. I try to get my 10K steps in daily sometimes just walking in place during commercials. My daughter doesn't believe walking in place works but the doctor (a trained professional) said any movement is better than none at all. Find what works for you and stick to it even on the days or possibly weeks where the scale does not move. Never give in to the thought 'this is all I'm going to lose' and stop working the tool. Keep in mind when the weight loss slows down that ounces do equal pounds, staying the same with no gain is a good thing, and you didn't gain it all in a day so it won't come off in a day. I thought I was a slow loser but I'm in the normal weight range now and below my goal weight.
Teriona , so I had my sleeve January 15, 12 days later I was diagnosed with the hiatal hernia so I haven't been able to eat or during the stuff that I'm suppose to so I feel like my sleeve has been on hold till I have my surgery to correct this problem .hopefully soon I'll be on the road on losing weight.
It works if you work it so work it you're worth it. Haha, JK with that answer but yeah I had fears early on but honestly, you are in the honeymoon phase now so enjoy it. This is an amazing time in your life -- all those challenges with weight loss are gone, and it's flying off! It gets harder at like 2-3 years out, maintaining is tougher than the initial lose phase and you don't get daily kudos for maintaining. So don't try to sabotage your joy. You are losing and doing great and don't let fear creep in.
