Why I had WLS

I was 313 pounds, and had bad migraines and well I just could not stand on my feet for more than 10 to 15 min without my back giving out on me. My family has a history of stroke, heart attacks, diabetes and several other obesity related health issues. I was not to that point yet, but I knew it would happen. I lost both, my grandfather’s to strokes my grandmother, father and older sister to strokes. My older brother has had 3 heart attacks, so I seen the writing on the wall. Even at 313 pounds I had low blood pressure, l was hypoglycemic and had a metabolic rate of a zombie (LOL). I knew this was only temporary, at some point this would all change. I was denied by several insurance companies for having WLS because I was to healthy. I took my life in my own hands, and went to Tijuana, Mexico and paid out of my own pocket. Putting me first has never felt so good. I know it is a huge decision but I just could not give up because insurance companies said no. I am worth fighting for.

It's so great to see you Stacy! I love seeing someone who's still on this site around when I joined back in 2012 I had to wait 3 years, but it was SO worth it!

I started to read this post because you had said why you did this surgery, why did you decided to have surgery? Did you have health problems or was it that you just wanted to get back in shape.

I also had really bad migraines as well, low blood and had to look for my weight out to a new life. I see that you have had surgery a while back good for you.
