THiS IS MY FIRST REAL POST. THE THREE BEFOREHAND ARE NOT BY ME. THE FOLLOWING THREE ARE THE ONLY FROM ME.

I haven't read all of the responses, but did get the gist of which direction it went.
Some people are absolutely addicted to sugar and white flour. They are triggered by it. If staying completely away from them is what they need to do to guarantee success, they should. No different than alcohol addiction.

OK, I gotta say I'm surprised that someone (who?) has hacked the account of a long-standing www.gastricsleeve.com member (Lee6Lee) and used her account to post comments supportive of the original poster and her original post.

    Seriously?

To the person who hacked Lee6Lee's account to support MaggyF's post here, create your own damn account. Really -- this joint isn't such a devious place that it should inspire your deviousness. If you think MaggyF has got a good thing going, then have the balls to create your own anonymous account, not use someone else's anonymous account. Which, actually, is really pretty funny. Except that it's not funny to the person whose account was hacked.

Whoever you are, and for whatever reasons you did this, you're an asshole.

Maybe because they were posted over a year and a half ago you've possibly posted them but forgotten about them? Either way, please change your password so it won't keep happening and please log out when you are finished on the forums if you use a computer that other people share. Then log back in next visit. This site does not automatically log you out after any period of time, but you should still go by best practices and log yourself out if other people might be able to visit this site on your device.

In any event, great thread and a great topic for debate/discussion. Congrats to everyone having success in their individual ways.

MediaHound, what we eat bespeaks what we are. True enough, what we eat drives our success. Always stick to your diet plan.

I do believe that you do have to make some healthy changes to maintain your goal weight. BUT....I do not believe you have to give up everything. I also think that people who eat crap food all the time may lose but eventually will regain. That is my OPINION as I am not a doctor. I am sure there are a few lucky ones who can eat whatever and keep the weight off...but from the posts about regain that I have read they all start with the "I fell back into poor eating habits and stopped exercising." So my belief system is protein, veggies, and when there is space good carbs. I do allow myself some tastes of non healthy foods to not deprive myself. And I also exercise. My measure that keeps my honest is my relationship with the scale. Morning and night I weight myself. I can adjust what I am doing by watching what my scale does. For those who don't agree with my OPINION...that is fine. We all have one, right? I just do what works for me.

Oh...and I drink a non fat latte made with high protein milk everyday. That caffeine has not stopped me from losing weight. I just use espresso, Fa!rlife milk, and Splenda. Have had it pretty much every day since about 7 days post op. (Granted my first ones were tiny.)
