Time to finish this!

With this journey I have found so much in losing so much weight. I am work ing with a therapist to find myself and grow past my old issues. Doing all of this work has helped me to figure out thAt I need to completely cut ties with the old me my old habits and who I was . so as I'm getting ready to finish the physical transformation with skin surgery I think I may be officially changing my name. I have never liked the niame Alison it just never felt like it was me people are talking to.
I am curious if anyone else feels similar? My therapist says she thinks this is an appropriate change for such a huge transformation.

I have to admit I had to think about this for a minute. I feel that if that is what you need to do then do it. The only thing I am wondering about is why do you not like your name? I am not a therapist but hating doesn't usually help the situation. My name is Jane. I did not like my name until I was an adult. I lived in an abusive home growing up. I hated hearing my name because it meant I was in trouble and grew to believe that "Jane" was bad. Well, Jane is not bad. I did not like my body and now that I have lost weight I am so much happier. I am still working on some of the negative emotions I still have. No doubt, many would have been with me anyway. I just don't want you to think that Alison is the bad person. I hope this makes some sense. I'm going through anxiety now and I'm having trouble putting my words together.
