Red face How does it feel to loose 50+ lbs in such a short time?

How does it feel to loose so many pounds in such a short time? How does your brain keep up with your loss? I'm seeing many people loose 75 to 100 lbs in less than a year. Does it make you nervous? I would imagine it feels like you are washing down the drain - disappearing right before your very eyes. How does your hubby or wife feel about your body changing so quickly?

I'm planning to have my surgery in February - trying to wrap my head around what is possible and what's to come.

I've lost 76 pounds since last April. The losses have not made me nervous because they have been slow and gradual (76 pounds over nine months is nothing to brag about). I've actually lost at a more rapid rate in my early 20s when I went on a low calorie diet and strenuous exercise, but could only maintain the 60 pound loss for two years before slipping back into old habits.

I don't have a spouse, so no opinions are coming from that front.

I didn't get sleeved for visual appearances; hence, my smaller body does not bother me psychologically. I don't feel as if I'm disappearing. I got sleeved for health reasons: to prevent diabetes, heart disease, osteoarthritis, shortness of breath, and all the dreadful issues that are caused by obesity. My sleeve is a mere tool in the fight for a healthier life.

It was weird because complete strangers kept coming up to me and guessing that I had lost weight. Probably because my clothes were looking too big for me.

    Hello Honey!

For me I haven't wrapped my head around it. I'm down 80lbs in about 6 months. I still think I am 300lbs and my biggest fear is getting on the scale and seeing it go up 5lbs.

Yes, I went from size 42 pants to size 34. But it still is hard for me to believe. It seems like a dream sometimes. However, I am not eating nearly as much food. I make sure the I drink 80+ ounces of hydrating fluids a day. I take the supplements. I don't drink beer and I limit sweets.

it is the size of my body that is the biggest thing to get used to. Men talk to me differently. Women flirt with me more and to be honest Inprobably flirt more as well.

Everybody is different just because some lost more and others lost less in the same time does not mean anything. All results vary and as Ann has said the penis people do tend to drop it faster!

I lost 100 lbs in a year and 120 lbs total. It is not scary losing this weight, it is amazing. I am 60 years old, had my surgery at 58 and did it for my health and quality of life. I was fortunate not to have high blood pressure or diabetes when I had my surgery. I did have arthritis in both my knees and couldn't bend over to tie my shoes. My right knee has been scoped twice and my left knee needed attention also. I had also become a grandmother for the first time being blessed by both my daughters two months apart. I didn't want to be the grandmother who couldn't get off the floor or get out of a chair. Since my weight loss I have been feeling full of energy and mostly pain free. Now I am maintaining my weight and I do pay attention to what I eat. I like being thin not only because I look better but because I feel better. My husband loved me when I weighed 200, 220, 240, 260 and now at 140. He is proud of me and always a source of support. I won't deny it. It is fun looking sexy again. I love being able to fit into that little black dress or wear stretch leggings. Its fun going into a store and knowing I will find the clothing I want and look good in it. I love it that I am no longer on cholesterol meds and my blood pressure is 118/70. And I love being able to tie my shoes and get off the floor. Being a Grandma is fabulous. I hope this helps.
