    Default Day 7-nervous

So I am definitely a hypochondriac, and don't hide it well. I suffer from panic attacks, and had two major ones right before my surgery. I have never had panic attacks that big, so I chalked it up to nerves of the surgery, because it was my first one. Now I'm nervous of having another one. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess my fear is that everything is going so smoothly, that something is going to go wrong with the surgery. It's day 7 and I feel fine. Most people would be happy, but It scared me a little. Please tell me I'm not alone in feeling like this?
Did anyone have feelings of regret after getting the sleeve? Did it subside?

Melanie, take a deep breath and create some happy thoughts. Fear will drive you crazy, don't it do that to you. Just reflect on all the good reasons behind the surgery and focus on getting healthy. Do not entertain the negative thoughts, it's of the devil. Good luck

Yes, I have been an anxiety panic person..and have been to counseling..so i learned that when i was nervous this was how i reacted to things..in otherwords..of course you are nervous..you just had major surgery, and of course you are scared..you just took a step to change your life..
but know this..if something was REALLY wrong ..you would feel awful!! so you are fine..and if not..you call your dr..that is what you can do..
panic is just a reaction..it will not get worse and worse and only grows on how much power you give it..
so just know yourself..and accept that and you will be fine!!
    congrats on your first week..
you got this!! (i went thru all of this..and even wondered if i made a huge mistake..and now i am 10 months later and LOVE MY LIFE!!)

    Hi Melanie,

I actually had my surgery the same day on January 20. I feel fine too!! I had two bad days at the beginning, was expected, it was the result of the anesthesia and we were all prepared for it. Of course before surgery I was nervous too, but since everybody is different, for me it was more about sleepless nights. I also think that the pre-op diet being that strict, we could have had some vitamin deficiency that could trigger strange things....I was soooo moody!
Right now I take my vitamins religiously and follow my nutritionist program, there is no reason for a problem to appear! the worth is behind!

Of course I'm not hypochondriac, I'm not in your shoes, I already have enough health issues that are real, I don't have time to think about others that could come up. You should focus on positive things, what your future will be when you reach a better weight, how great your health will be, what things you can do, travel, new hobbies....get some new clothing in smaller size!! keep busy and surround yourself with bright colors, nice people and positive thinking. Take care!
