Hand weights,sit-UPS and a million leg kicks. Tighten with exercise! Plastics........I don't think so !
If money and time were no object, I MIGHT consider it, but realistically, I was pretty lucky. Lost about 90 pounds, and I've been one to carry it "all over" so no one area is in particularly bad shape. My arms bother me. Occasionally my tummy and now wrinkly thighs, but plastics are painful (so I've heard), and I don't have anything "hanging" so, eh... unless I win the lotto, I'll live with the "scars" (skin) I've chosen. If I'd lost more, or not lost proportionally, I might want it more.
I went threw it 4.5 years ago and at times i feel like i should look into it but its not that bad. I know a few people in the support group I go to that have said they havent had theirs removed and wouldnt think of it. I tend to not like my skin that hangs on my belly but i find if i wear binders and corsets and coat my skin in coconut oil it seems to help and its shrinking slowly.
I have an apron, floppy arms and jiggling thighs. Clothes work well and for swimming i wear a surfers top (long sleeve) and shorts (tight and down to knees) looks cool so i have been told, of course i wear a bra.
I am older so comfy with this, i suppose it is harder on the young sleevers but hopefully the skin is tighter to start. I remember losing a lot of weight when i was younger and there was no skin problem. Just too bad that i gained it all back with friends. The sleeve has really helped me with this. Maintained for almost 3 years and counting.
I will only admit this on this site. On vacation, my adult daughter and I went swimming in the indoor pool. The skin on my thighs floats to the surface. As awful as this sounds it was very amusing and made me realize just how much fat was eliminated. I can hide the skin very well, the arms aren't too bad, neck is great, chest I buy very good bras, tummy I can hide. Butt and thighs are definitely the worst. Once I am again able to (fractured my knee cap), I plan on getting back to work on squats and developing those muscles. Surgery is not on bucket list, yet......
I'm 62 also and just now looking into a tummy tuck.
Can't afford it. I carried my most weight in my stomach. Apple for sure. Lost over a hundred lbs. in 10 months. Was swimming at the time 2 miles 3 days a week. That helped. Then went back to night shift and stopped swimming. Woo ee do I got hanging stomach skin now. Always wondered what a "apron" was. This week I am joining my health center again and start swimming. Will be 60 in July and am just going to live with it. I wear what I want. Screw em if they can't take a joke.
IT'S BEEN ALMOST TEN YEARS NOW SINCE MY SURGERY. AND IM STILL GOING STRONG!!!!!!
