    Default Bonjour!

    Hello!

I'm a 43 years old French woman, married, and a mother of 3. Getting a sleeve on Jan 20, after nearly 20 years of fighting obesity.

Even if I'm scared, I have high hopes for that surgery, I'm hoping it will be the tool I need to finally get to a normal weight and live without pains and sickness everyday. There is so much to do in life that turns complicated and difficult just because of the obesity!

I can't wait to be able to seat in an airplane without feeling like a sardine in a can, since I do have to fly several times per year, it's always a nightmare! Being lighter will be such a relieve on so many aspects!

I heard a few people around me saying things like "loosing so much weight will give you back your nice figure" or "you will be so happy to be beautiful again". Most of people have no idea what it is like to be obese!

I don't care about getting back in my per-pregnancy jeans that I gave away to Goodwill ages ago : surgery is not a question of vanity but life and death. I'm far past the "will I be a size 12 or 10 after?" I just don't care, I want to lose as much as possible to feel normal again! Whatever the size or the look! I will gladly welcome flabby skin!

It's getting a life back, a life where walking 5 K is not going to break my toes, carrying a suitcase is not going to give me back pain for a week because I already carry the weight of a full person on my back and that suitcase is just too much.

I hope everyone will have the best journey in that battle against obesity! take care!

    Sandra
