    Question Recovering

    Hello!
I just had the gastric sleeve and hernia repair done Dec 21,2015.
I'm 3 days in recovery and have a few questions.
The middle of my breast bone area has a lot of pressure no actual pain
But heaviness. I had a low temp fever the second day that lasted 4 hours but dr said I was probably dehydrated.
Can't sleep on my right side and I'm having a hard time burping.
It is impossible to burp. Is this heaviness and
Uncomfortableness going to be for a long time?
Please respond if you had both done and let me know how your first few days were.

    Thank you

They told me that the hernia repair would probably be the most uncomfortable part of recovery. They basically tightened the space where your esophagus passes through your diaphragm muscle. Hang in there - it will pass. I'm a month out, and the only discomfort I have is if I drink too much liquid at once.
Are you on something like Nexium or Prilosec (generic is omeprazole). I found that helped as well. GasX will break the bubbles up if it is gas, but it is probably liquid in your esophagus.

    Good luck!

On December 16th had two hernia repairs along with the sleeve. I still have an upper breastbone puffiness that the Surgeon said was normal.
The biggest issue I have is a slight case of daily diarrhea that now is in it's 4th day. I had to submit a stool sample kit to be tested for an antibiotic reaction that may be needing more attention. Pain isn't bad, have been out earlier today throwing nerf football with the grand kids.
You are probably still gassed up. It took me 4 or 5 days to get rid of the gassy feeling. I take a Prilosec daily and gas-x maybe once a day.
Wife today was grilling burgers for the family, giving me a flashback for a 5 guys double cheeseburger and order of their greasy fries. Waaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

I know I could not burp for almost 3 months, the good thing was the more I moved around the less pressure I felt. I did feel bloated for about 2 weeks but then that went away and then the weight started to fall off. Things will get better just be patient

    Good luck
