Anyone else going to this, or considering it? They've called me several times now to invite me & ask if I'm attending. Still on the fence.

I'm happy enough to tell speak to others informally if they want to ask about being sleeved. I'm just not about to be pressured to get up to the podium & speak! Any other former patients attending, or people considering surgery in mexico?

My wife and I plan to attend and answer questions about our experiences.

I don't appreciate their two dozen phone calls to me.

Yes, I did get called quite a few times - not by my old coordinator but by folks who seem like they weren't much in the loop.
Redwards, so are you & wife going to be called up to speak to answer questions from the audience? I have asked the people who have called on the phone, but I don't give a lot of stock in their answers as they are vague & I have the feeling the callers really have no idea.
I'm happy to speak to people one on one, but if I get pressured to go up & speak in front of the audience they will see my skinny butt walking out the door!

We can't be asked to address the seminar at the podium.

I do have Toastmasters training, so I wouldn't mind.

I fully expect to answer questions.

Redwards, I was there & you sounded just like a pro addressing the group! Your wife spoke well too.


Conference was ok, I got to say though I was taken aback by the way some made such a big deal over Dr. Cabreras mispronouncing "reflux" some even laughed at him. I can't imagine many of us being able to hold an extended conversation in spanish, mispronouncing a medical term & then getting that reaction. Geez people, they could clearly understand what he was saying as they corrected him. My Mom spoke English as a 2nd language. She would have ripped me a new one & rightly so if I had corrected her like that.
Dr. Cabreras is just a nice person, so humble and down to earth. Especially for a surgeon. I just felt bad for him.
