    Default Biggest Loser

Anyone an avid fan? I LOVE seeing people take their lives back, and it really motivates me.

Loving it now--just starting on the West Coast. Jillian announced that last season would be her last--she has other things she wants to do. I have watched every season and love to be on the show for a summer. Have you guys ever googled the Biggest Loser Ranch in Utah? Bloody amazing! I want to go someday.

I might be alone here. I can't stand it. There really isn't a whole lot on the show regarding nutrition, and I suppose that's because it's boring television. It's more interesting to see the physical stuff. And I can understand why that is inspiring to some. I don't like the drill sergeant aspect of it. I see an obese man exercising and falling and having that Bob guy come over an put his foot on top of him, ugh! Plus, it's not really "real" in that they are all living at this ranch for months on end and this is not realistic for most people. It's a competition show, and it doesn't really impart any knowledge on the viewers or they are not trying to affect lifestyle changes for the majority of fat Americans.

I did enjoy Thintervention with Jackie Warner on Bravo. In addition to these boot camp workouts, she'd go to their home and go through their refrigerators and cabinets and talk about the food aspect of it, too.

I like the show, sometimes it drags a bit so I record it. It has been on for what? 8 years or so. This is the first time I have watched it feeling alot better about myself being down 100 lbs!!!! All the other times I watched it in the past it made me feel worse because I could not lose weight and keep it off. Last night it was different and it motivated me to increase my workouts. I would love to get into the hundreds by early 2012. I agree I do think they should share more nutritional info. But, lets face it. It is a tv show and showing people in those tight outfits and crying all the time has been getting them ratings. What does that say about what people consider entertaining???

I think the support that the contestants give to each other is the best part of it. Last night, I thought it was great when the young man was upset and the older man shouted out, "You're stronger than you think, son!"

Plus, I think it's amazing to see these people go from 400 lbs and barely able to walk a mile to running a marathon. And I do think they go into the nutrition aspect of it as well - every person has different nutritional needs, so it might not focus on that, but it does talk about the differences between say, eating ground beef and ground turkey.

Yeah, can't say I enjoy fat shaming in any form. I tried to watch it once and turned it off for just that reason.
