Surgery Tomorrow!

I was somewhere around 202lbs. when I first decided to do the surgery. I've been yo-yo dieting forever! I got approved to have the surgery and started the 2 wk pre-op diet of protein shakes and 1 small meal a day. I lost 10lbs in 14 days. Now, this being the day before surgery, I had to do the liquid diet and got a headache. oh well.

Tomorrow I begin this journey! I check into the hospital at 11:30am and surgery is to start around 1:30pm. Trying not to be nervous. So surgery date weight is 190lbs. I know some might think that's not high enough numbers but I keep failing the physical every year because of my BMI. I'm 5ft. 5 1/2" and I got approved for the surgery so I'm doing it! I've only told my spouse, my mom, my best friend and my boss (because I had to take an unplanned vacation time off and it's just easier for them to say yes if its for surgery).

Okay, here we go!

Best of luck to you! That's so exciting. I'm new to the site too. My surgery will be in November, but I don't have an exact date yet. Keep in touch because I would love to hear how everything goes.

God bless tomorrow, I am 6 months out, started with a borderline bmi, ( I actually had to gain 5 pounds) and this is the BEST decision I have ever made! No more dieting, just eating health in small portions. This is a life changing event, embrace it and stick with this forum for advice. Just get through each day one step at a time, within 5 days you will be tired but feeling so much better. Listen to your doctors plans and don't over do. Good luck! You can do it!

And I am old fashioned and told only my close family and 1 friend. Your life does not need to be an open book. When someone asks how I am losing weight I tell them, protein, low carb and portion control, because it is the truth. I went from a size (tight, only 1 pair of pants fit) 14 to now my size 4 pants are loose on me! My husband thinks he is having an affair.
