Hello and thanks for reading. My insurance requires a seven month medically supervised diet to be completed before they will approve me for surgery. I'm 5 months in and have been doing pretty well, but was getting tired of dragging my food log around and writing down the nutritional value of everything I ate. My NUT suggested that I use the app myfitnesspal to keep track of things months ago, but I just blew it off. After reading some posts on this forum suggesting that we use myfitnesspal I finally checked it out. I LOVE IT!!!!!
Today I was scrolling through the blogs on myfitnesspal and came across one written by a personal trainer who suggested that everyone needs an accountabilibuddy to help them stay on track and offer encouragement or gentle discipline when needed. The way it works is that you set up your myfitnesspal acct with a password and then your buddy can use it to log onto your acct and see your meal tracking, notes, weight loss and everything else. So I am looking for someone to be my buddy. I promise that I will faithfully and truthfully log all my food and weights and exercise and I will accept all your feedback and I will check your progress each day and do the same for you. You can be at any stage in your journey, pre-op or post-op.
A little bit about me. At my initial visit, in April, I weighed 278 lbs and today at my visit I weighed 251 lbs. I am 5'4" tall. I have lost the weight the past few months by cutting way down on the carbs and not eating out. I also feed a portion of whatever I am eating to my little dogs. Lol. I'll be done with my 7 month diet requirement in mid-October and then be submitted for insurance approval, so my surgery will probably be in November.
So please reply if you are interested and check out the app either way. I really do think it is great. Thanks for your time!
