Have your eating/drinking habits changed?
Do you workout?
If so, you might want to Jumpstart your sleeve and start all over from the very begining a week of Liquids,Mushy food then healthy solids
It's possible mind over matter it's not like your looking to lose 100+ lbs you won that battle already
20-25lbs is nothing compare to your highest weight,Right? You got this
I'm 17 Months out down 114lbs
I never turn back to soda/beer-I have it in my head I will die if I took a sip due to Carbonation erupting my Sleeve,Weird but works for me!
I still wait 30 min before and after meals to drink
I only work out 30-45 min/5 days a week of my choice
Yes,I indulge every now and then making sure the next day I make better chioces....we are Human
Hope this helped a little!
I have heard that it is no uncommon to gain weight 2 to 3 years after the surgery. I am still under a year, so I cannot speak from experience. Learning from my monthly support group, it is smart to start from scratch. Go back to liquids for a week. Increase protein etc. If support groups are available use them. I know people who are 10 years out that still attend our monthly groups. Stay motivated!! Vande is right. 20 lbs is nothing compared to where you started from. You got this!!!!
I am see that same thing with 2 friends that had the sleeve about 18 months before I did so this is a fear that I hope keeps me very careful.
I eat anything I want to but just can't eat much and I stay very active on my job. Your post has been a wake up call for me because a little voice has been telling me that I am getting too sloppy in my eating habits.
I will be 4 years out in December. I am about 5-10 over goal and a solid 25 over my lowest weight. I think that is pretty normal based on my many years on these forums and talking to others.
The only solution is to go back to basics, follow the rules closely etc. People think that regain is due to "going back to old habits" and I don't think it is quite that simple. My regain is more because i am living a life similar to alot of my friends, they stay slim and i gain weight on that lifestyle. I had some injuries and other health problems that have contributed to my reduction in exercise too.
anyway, there is no magic solution, just go back to basics foodwise and increase activity. The sleeve tool is still there, but it doesn't work as well as it did the first 2 years, that is for sure!
Hang in there and don't be too hard on yourself.

Thanks everyone, going to try and start all over, today was the first day, I think this is going to be hard, but I'm going to try , man i really don't want to be big and fat again, I said when i was down to 180 i would not get fat anymore no, look, anyway thanks , hope your doing better than me.
p.bovis, I've not been in your situation yet. But if I were, I'd go back and do the two-week pre-op diet I did a year ago. It wasn't too hard for me (after the 2nd or 3rd day I was in the swing of things). And it really put my head in a good place.
And then I'd probably ease into a 1,000 calorie / day diet. Yup, I don't mind that word at all. Obviously, I'd do a lot of protein, no alcohol, no sugar. Just protein, healthy veggies and some low- or non-fat dairy.
Best to you. LOTS of people have been in your spot before and have turned it around. You're very, very smart to confront this when it's only 25 pounds. That's one of the hallmarks of those who lose weight and are able to keep it off -- so says some very good research from the National Weight Loss Registry.

P.bovis....I'm in the same boat as you are. Had my surgery in 2011 and I have gained 37 of the 80 pounds that I had lost, right back. I got sloppy with my food. Did not measure it and ate too fast. I will still, on occasion, get sick if I push passed my limit. This tells me the sleeve is still working, but it's my hands and my eyes getting me into trouble. Heck, I even know when I'm picking up a bag of Fig Newtons at the store that I shouldn't be!!! Ever see that heartburn commercial where the food slaps the people in the face? That's what I wish would happen to me!!! I'm back at square one, smaller portions, fresh veggies and either chicken or fish. Beef and pork don't seem to agree with me anymore. The pounds are coming off, just slowly because I'm not a gym person. I park way out in the parking lot and I take stairs if I can. Seems to help. I've developed asthma again but the doc says it's seasonal. Don't do like I did, start now with the 25 pounds....you can do this....these folks will help all of us...I know there are more because I've talked to them. Good luck! You can do it!!!
Go, Shirley!

I too, am in this predicament. I never met my goal, but made it to 195. I was down from 287. Then, I was diagnosed with MS and started taking all kinds of meds. Between the meds, overeating due to stress, making bad food choices, and lack of movement, I am now back at 225. Weight gain of 30 lbs. But, my weight fluctuates entirely crazy....I weighed 214 at the Dr. in May and then in July I weighed 227. Someone please tell me how this is possible!!! I can't get my head back on straight to start over. I am disgusted with myself and tired of even trying. I am 5'9 and large framed, but I made it down to a size 10! Now, I am back up to a 16 and they are getting tight. For me, the battle is lost, and I feel as if I will never make it back to where I was again. Best of luck to you!
I hate to see people beat themselves up. You may find some perspective in knowing it's not just you:

I expect we all may get an assist with medical advances in coming years, so hold your ground however you best can, keep the faith, and be kind to yourselves.
Congratulations on your noticing you needed to go back and start over. I am 18 months out and unfortunately know what sliders are - I have to constantly stop from buying these things - for I am the one that shops for the most part. My sweetheart and I are doing fairly well right now since he is trying to lose some weight before HIS surgery - hopefully this October?
As you can tell from the comments - you are not alone!
