Tinman can you help me understand what you said? Liquid does NOT stretch your stomach? That seems to go against what they tell you. I am most definitely in the 3 week stall and after reading your post trying very hard to get my liquid increased. It's frustrating to be eating so little and not see the scale move this early so I'm taking your words to heart and truly trying to make sure I'm hydrated.

    Hi Sunny....

I'm not sure who "they" are, but, whom ever "they" are, "they" are giving you bad info. When you drink, your body begins to absorb the liquids immediately. In plain English, the water doesn't stay in your sleeve long enough to cause any lasting stretching. Couple that with the fact that most sleevers are experiencing some level of dehydration so that causes the water to be absorbed even quicker.

In fact, there is a school of thought that subscribes to the notion that the sleeve can't be stretched out by any means. I don't believe that. I believe some stretching occurs, but, it's probably close to impossible to stretch it out to the proportions previous to your surgery.

    I hope that answers your questions.......So....start drinking....lol.

Ok heres my 2 cents cause I didn't read everyones posts lol solids at 2 weeks? Ummmm no.
What did your doctors protocol tell you? FOllow it to the letter (at least for the first 6 months)
Be weary of everything you read....not because it isn't true - but because it's everyones personal journey.
At this point you haven't begun the journey. Tinman is right in what he tells you. I've followed his advice
for a year now (minus his sexual escapades) but all the other stuff lmao BUT I followed my doctor
exclusively for the first 6-8 months.
Your hunger .... could be acid.... could be head hunger....could be your thirsty and don't know it.
go back to the basics of whatever was given to you. At 2 weeks out all I was allowed to have was
mashed up soups and yogurt (about 2 tbs) My stomach would not allow any more than that.
Failure? Nope you will not fail as long as you have ALL the facts and information you need to begin this journey.
Stick to a few trusted people who have lived this for a period of time....but understand that someone 5 years out
will see and remember things a bit differently than when they first began. Be brave and if you are questioning
yourself- call your surgeon, go to the support groups affiliated with and be patient.
Patience is a must in this process. Learn to have a different relationship with food and do not worry about
'stalls' or whatever they are called. Tinman has the perfect recipe for such things and he is definitely worth reading.
In the meantime take one day at a time, drink your water, eat the protein and exercise

Every journey begins with one small step....

I agree with you 100% with this on the water issue. Water / liquids do not stretch the sleeve.... eating and drinking might but not
just water. So fill your water bottle up, or whatever it is you like that you can tolerate and enjoy!
