Talking It has been a while

I had my 18 month check in at the end of June. I am down another 8 pounds from my one year and feeling great. I've found a few foods that I can't handle - any Chinese food! and Tomato Soup. There are things I used to love to eat that just don't appeal now, but that may change. My nutritionist is thrilled with my progress and eating stats, and my exercise. I would love to take off another 35 pounds - my end goal, but if I stopped losing today I would be a happy camper. I am comfortable in my clothes, my skin, and where I'm at in this journey. I'll continue to record all my food and track my exercise; I'm in this for the long haul!

Newbies - welcome to the forum - it is very supportive here and I posted often when I started out. I had so may questions that folks kindly answered for me. Just remember this is a journey, not a sprint and although you will lose weight quickly, the goal is to take and keep it off. If you change your eating habits and commit to the program you can do this. I did, I am!

It's great to hear from you, Khartt. You're doing so good. I still remember your Renaissance Faire (?) outfit. Loved that look.

I look forward to my own anniversary next month and then my 18-month anniversary after that. I hope I'm feeling as good then are you do now. You're so right about this being a long-haul marathon.

    Congratulations to you.

    Heh, heh ... the clothes!

I've found an amazing high-end consignment shop that has saved me an untold amount of money as I've gone down. Aquajog gave me the idea to do that.

And now size 8s are what I wear. It seems unreal.

Check out letote.com. I'm already going below the "skinny" section of my closet (mostly size 10-12), and am supplementing my wardrobe with this service. (They sent me a size SMALL and it fit beautifully.) Anyhow, at $50/month, you can get unlimited "totes", tailored to your style. I'm refusing to buy new clothes until a month or two after I hit my goal weight, something my surgeon (who had the surgery) recommended. I did break down and buy two new bras and underwear, but jeans (expensive), work clothes, etc., will have to wait.

Check out that service. It's wonderful, and you high-achieving, beautiful women deserve it.

We have a great store in town called Marden's. They buy overstock, salvage and past season clothes. I live in the sticks of Maine so last years "fashion" is just hitting our area . The clothes run from $.50 up to $20 for most stuff - name brands at great prices. I didn't "flush" out my closet until I stabilized in my weight. I wear a large or 12/14 and don't expect to get much smaller than that. I hung onto my size 8 jeans until just recently as we packed to move to our new house. I didn't need them for inspiration/guilt any more, and it felt so good to let them go. I buy my jeans from our local Goodwill store; I found a couple brand new ones with tags for under $10. I'll check out letote.com though - love a good bargain.
