completely normal - especially if you care about the journey. and please understand things wont happen overnight... and sometimes it seems much slower than youd like it to be...

keep measurements - not just weight.... i track all that crap weekly on a spreadsheet. and sure as can be - the weeks i lose very little - i lose in size.. so dont let that discourage you when the scale doesnt seem to be moving.

    best of luck

Thanks Jeff!! Great idea! I've been tracking my weight since I started the pre op diet, but I haven't measured. I will measure today! I have to say I am getting a little nervous, but I am so ready! I'm mostly just nervous about the physical recovery - I don't want to take too much time off work. But I can if I need to.

remember -it is real surgery so you will need time to recover. more than anything i was tired the first couple of weeks. truthfully maybe 1 day where i felt like pain meds (2nd day after surgery) - but more than anything i needed sleep as i was only sleep 3-4 hours. also know - i am a wuss when it comes to pain so my 'no pain meds' was more to let you know that. i was up and walking a lot the day of and after surgery. walking truly help you feel better.

Thanks so much! It really helps to get advice from someone who had the surgery recently. I'm thinking the recovery is similar to the recovery from a hysterectomy, which I had last summer. Pain was bad, but I tired easy and needed cat naps. I can handle that!! I took my measurements today, thank you for the suggestion. It will help to track my progress and keep me encouraged. Thanks again! 6 days to go!

Best wishes to you on your upcoming date! I found MyFitnessPlan is great in counting calories for your pre op and breaks down much more. It's not so useful after until much later as after your focused on amount not calories. Best advice I can give is read a lot of these forums and read whatever you can to be the most informed you can. Good luck with your journey!!!!
