    Default Wedding issues

Hey all, I didn't really know where to categorize this question but I have a dilemma. I am day 10 post op and am down 25lbs since the preop diet. I know my weight will slow eventually. However, I am getting married end of December and haven't gotten or even gone wedding dress shopping. I don't want to spend money on a dress only to not be able to wear it in December since I am losing weight so quickly. I don't like corset back dresses so I wanted to get a zipper but I'm afraid of buying a dress and then losing too much for them to be able to alter. But I also don't want to wait too long and then not have a dress! Any ideas or advice? Thanks so much!

well, i used to own a wedding shop..so this is what i would do..you can go to davids bridal which has many off the rack dresses..which has many sizes and you can wait until you are closer to the wedding. or you can buy a dress a few sizes smaller and then have them alter it. frankly i would do the Davids..but that depends on how much you love a specific dress.. By the time it is your wedding, you might be 50 lbs more down ~ weight loss does slow after the first few days..but do expect that you would loose about 9 lbs a month (maybe more) so that is about 50 and of course all of this depends on how much you excersise as well..so that effects your measurments alot..so i would head to a bridal store now..to find your style...then jot down some dresses you love..hit up davids bridal as well and find out what they do have in stock..expect at least a month before the wedding for alterations..

Thank you so much for all your tips! I will definitely follow them as I was kinda at a loss. I have been exercising a lot so that's another reason why I was worried! Thanks again!

Heidi, I don't know what your best course of action is. But based on my own experience, I predict you're going to lose far more weight by December than you can imagine at this point. Even more relevant is that your sizes will be much smaller than you can probably imagine.

Also, your clothes sizes will shrink MUCH faster as you get smaller. Not altogether sure why that happens, but that happened to me, and I read here that it happens to many others as well.
