    Red face Hello all ☺️

My name is Rachael and I just joined today
I am supposed to have surgery at the end of June. I am so excited!! I can't wait to feel healthier. My big fear is that my insurance for some reason won't cover it. 😁
Does anyone have any questions I should ask my doc For my pre-op visit???
    I'm so anxious

Well, all of us after the sleeve were all in your position..and all I can tell you..is ask every possible question that is on your mind..and then research research..Things change radically after the sleeve, but the biggest thing that I guess I needed to remember is that this is major surgery..and you need to recover..and you need to be gentle with the new tummy of yours...after some time..things get more and more normal..and so will you..
oh and you are a girl..so there are loads of emotions at the begining for some of us..but it passes..it is all part of the surgery..

I'd been considering the sleeve for a long time before I got it.
One of the major factors was being a nurse, having to lift, I knew I couldn't afford to take off 6 weeks or more with the lifting restrictions. So, how much you can lift & if it will be an impact on your work (or if you have little babies or toddlers at home, will that be manageable) are things to consider.
My back finally went down the drain completely, & while I was off from work recovering I decided it was now or never. I never did recover well enough to go back to my job, but I am so glad I went ahead & took care of myself. One of the best things I've ever done for myself.

Ask about the pre-op, post-op diets, what your limitations will be and for how long. What is the bogie size they will use and around how much of the stomach will be removed. What you can do to minimize post-op complications. The best thing to do is carry a note pad with you and when you think of a question write it down so you are prepared when to meet the doctor.

    Good luck
