    Arrow Protein Protein Protein

Okay... So this isn't my first surgery. I had the Lapland back in 2005 and due to it slipping, 2009 my insurance company removed it. Since then, I have gained some weight back. Banded at 296lbs got down to 135lbs and maintained at 150lbs for two years. Since 2009 I have gained 59lbs (to date). I guess not so bad, but if any and, most of you know, weight loss and then gaining it back is not the best feeling. Surgery is 5/29 and I'm thrilled.

Protein. Being previously banded and now scheduled for the sleeve, protein is huge so finding the protein that what works best for you is a search! Like the sleeve, it's a tool. I use this tool for my protein intake. I have found a little drink called Premier Protein. I've only seen it sold at COSTCO (might try Sams Club?) thus far and I've been drinking it as a meal replacement for quite sometime as I'm not a huge red meat eater and typically not very interested in meat period. I'm picky I suppose. I've tried powder protein and it always tastes like powder and/or chalky to me. ISOPURE is absolutely disgusting as the texture, smell and taste is just.. ewe... If you enjoy those types of drinks and they work for you, awesome!! For me, this drink is neither chalky nor gooey and the chocolate tastes like chocolate milk. I have to say, when you "NEED" something sweet, this is a good alternative as well. Of course it's based on a 2000 calorie diet as most prepared drinks/food are. It's always exciting when you find something and you want to share it with the world, I guess this is one of those times... Go to the COSTCO website and type PREMIER PROTEIN or go to their website directly!!!

I arrive at the hotel 5/31. Surgery 6/1. I might bump into you. Your story sounds identical to mine. Lap band 2008, slippage and horrible problems. I did lose down to a size 8 so that was the good thing. Emergency surgery 5/2013 for removal. Since then the last 2 years put on about 60-70 pounds. Ughhhh no more size 8. It was like my body hadn't had food in forever and no matter what I ate good or bad I would gain. I can't wait for the sleeve. Good luck. And thanks for the info on the shakes. Another friend going I met on here said that's what she got and they are good.

Hey Jennifer!!! I'm sure there are a lot of us out there who have had this problem. Where did you get banded? Dr. Kuri in Mexico did my lapland. Yeah, once the lapland came out I did the exact same thing. It was like "Might as well...." We live and learn and the sleeve will be awesome! I don't leave until late Sunday night so I'll probably bump into you. My sister is going with me so I'll have someone there. Thought about going alone but... eh.. It's a mini vacation for my sister with 6 kids.. lol.

If we don't see each other there, we will on here!!!

    Good luck and Cheers!!!

The shakes are pretty damn good!

Have you tried the strawberry flavor? I want to order the strawberry and the chocolate to see if I like them.
    Good luck on your surgery!

    Thanks so much!

I have.. The Strawberry and Cream is slightly sweeter than the Chocolate. Same nutritional values though. I buy the Strawberry and Chocolate and both of them are nice tasting... You have one month to go, I bet you're excited. Good luck!

I also used Dr Kuri for the lapband. Same story here once it was unfilled it came back with a vengeance lol. After losing 100 lbs it was very depressing. It was actually harder on my body being heavy again.

Wow.. How crazy! My body has not liked the weight gain whatsoever!! My back is killing me ALL THE TIME. The good thing is, I've been through this once before...

What big differences did you find with the LapBand vs. Sleeve?

It's so much better. The big difference for me is I am not hungry and when I think I am a protein shake does the trick. Also because we already dealt with the head hunger thing it's much easier. There's more lol no fills and I've lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks. Your going to love it. I don't have the slimming either. Thank God.

I too LOVE premier chocolate shakes. Don't really like vanilla and strawberry but they are in the fridge in case I run out of chocolate. ;-)
Their bars are great too love the high protein content too- it allows me to get to at least 100 G protein daily! I just wonder how ingesting this type of protein compares to protein from food?
I have been buying the shakes at bj - a box for 19.00 and recently I found four packs of all flavors at walmart for 4.29. Don't buy from amazon- they charge 38.000!!!!!!!
I buy the bars at walmart for 1.18 - very reasonable and delicious.

I've also bought quest bars - tasty but much more expensive. I just ordered some Quest chips from Amazon- wouldn't mind something salty.

    Isopure IS DISGUSTING.

These products take away a lot of stress for me. I hate cooking and my hubby is so busy these days that I hate to ask him to cook for me. The other day he cooked a batch if turkey burgers on the George Forman, they were good but a little tough to digest. Had to eat them really slow (I can only eat 1/2 so my dog is very happy!
Yesterday I bought some pre cooked chicken strips -definately worth the money. Let's see if they stay down. Last night hubby brought home potato encrusted scrod. Good going down but didn't stay down. I think it was the horseradish sauce. YUMMY!

    Sorry this is so long.

I love Premier and it is being sold at many stores now. I am 2 -1/2 years out with a sleeve that I love. I still will have one for breakfast.

    Good luck
