Okay... So this isn't my first surgery. I had the Lapland back in 2005 and due to it slipping, 2009 my insurance company removed it. Since then, I have gained some weight back. Banded at 296lbs got down to 135lbs and maintained at 150lbs for two years. Since 2009 I have gained 59lbs (to date). I guess not so bad, but if any and, most of you know, weight loss and then gaining it back is not the best feeling. Surgery is 5/29 and I'm thrilled.
Protein. Being previously banded and now scheduled for the sleeve, protein is huge so finding the protein that what works best for you is a search! Like the sleeve, it's a tool. I use this tool for my protein intake. I have found a little drink called Premier Protein. I've only seen it sold at COSTCO (might try Sams Club?) thus far and I've been drinking it as a meal replacement for quite sometime as I'm not a huge red meat eater and typically not very interested in meat period. I'm picky I suppose. I've tried powder protein and it always tastes like powder and/or chalky to me. ISOPURE is absolutely disgusting as the texture, smell and taste is just.. ewe... If you enjoy those types of drinks and they work for you, awesome!! For me, this drink is neither chalky nor gooey and the chocolate tastes like chocolate milk. I have to say, when you "NEED" something sweet, this is a good alternative as well. Of course it's based on a 2000 calorie diet as most prepared drinks/food are. It's always exciting when you find something and you want to share it with the world, I guess this is one of those times... Go to the COSTCO website and type PREMIER PROTEIN or go to their website directly!!!
