New to the forums

Hello everyone!

I go by Keyo and I am 32 years old American woman. I am currently on my 2 week liquid diet and will be having my gastric sleeve surgery on June 1, 2015 by Dr. Manish Parikh at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City United States. My highest weight was between 280-300 lbs. (20-21 stone for our British members) (127-136 kg for members in other parts of the world). My current weight is between 225-230 lbs ( 16 stone) ( 102-104 kg) I am 4' 9" tall ( 144 cm ). Gastric sleeve surgery was recommended to me by my orthopedic surgeon who wants to plan spinal fusion surgery to correct scoliosis. I found this thread through a google search and am hoping that by joining I can support and find support with the upcoming surgery. I am terribly scared right now with a lot of anxiety because I don't know how I will adapt to my new life. Hoping to meet some nice and friendly people here to connect with.

There are loads of friendly people here! so welcome! It is a change..but you need a change..so I think you will enjoy this whole process..so ask loads of questions..there are many that have come before you..that are willing to help you in anyway they can!!

I am waiting to get my surgery date. In no time at all, you will be giving me advice. I think I will get mine toward end of June. I have been using this forum for a few months leading up to surgery. It has helped me build confidence in my decision. If you come here, you will get a lot of support.

Welcome! My surgery is late June, I get nervous too. but its mostly fears that I'm creating in my head. the more I read, the more I learn, so that helps relieve my anxiety. I hope these forums help you too.

I have a friend that her daughter has the sleeve and she suffers from scoliosis, she has never been so happy for her daughter.
