Question What is your Consultation Advice?

I have consultations set up in a few weeks with two local doctors about getting the gastric sleeve. I am new to the process and trying to do as much research as I can, but I trust the opinions of the people on here because you've been through it! So for those of you who have had consultations, chosen a doctor or gotten it done...

What are the most important questions to ask or that you wish you had asked?

What qualifications or experience should a great surgeon have vs an okay one?

What advanced techniques or equipment do the best surgeons use?

What pre-tests should I make sure they have as mandatory?

I want to go in there with questions written down so I don't get nervous or caught up and not ask the important questions that will help me choose the best person for me.

    THANK YOU!

One thing I would do is call your ins co and ask what their pre-op requirements are ours required a supervised diet for at least 6 Mos. If yours does too, call and get that process started as soon as possible.
    Good luck! Keep us updated.

I have been very pleased with the whole process, my Dr and his staff but a couple of things that stand out that I was relieved about... 1) I didn't have a drain tube 2) I had no staples, only glue that wore itself off 3) He a special technique with his incisions that my scars healed really small. GOOD LUCK!!!
