You cannot always believe the things you read on here. Just like in the states, when something doesn't go right, people want to talk down about their physician. Just because they had a bad experience, doesn't mean the doctor is horrible. I too am very excited about going and can't wait.

I've not lied. i do stand corrected tho.. some docs DO do re-sleeves but it is now my understanding that it is usually over a botched original sleeve, which was not my case. I'm just looking for a solution and personally I do not like the way Almanza conducts himself or his business. its my opinion. I do not work for any like business, i do cosmetic tattooing for a living. I just want to lose this darn weight and be happy again.

Lots of surgeons do re-sleeves. Especially in Mexico which is where you ELECTED to go. No one stuck a gun to your head. You overate and stretched the original sleeve and now you want to blame another very reputable doctor because he couldn't fix your eff up.

    I'll say it again....go away.

What kind of solution are you looking for? You have stated that your re-sleeve has basically been botched by Dr.A. Seems your solution is to seek out a cosmetic surgeon to repair your horrible scars, and a therapist to help you find your happy again. If you have spent any real time on this board, you have seen the many posts about re-gaining weight and what others have done to solve the problem. You came to complain, not ask for help.

alright alright... I'll leave you pleasant folks alone. I just had a suck experience with Almanza and his ego. I am not a 'fake'.... just a plain old gal looking for a solution. I'm really surprised at the venom here but I guess you have had some bad ones on board. Nope, i have never posted before, i know nothing of message boards, and I realize I made a terrible mistake in stating that no reputable doc would do a re-sleeve. so kill me!!! I'm sorry... i realize my mistake. I have no connections with ANY doctor... and you are right... I moved to NorCal and do NOTHING... lol... my life in AK was very active but this is a really small redneck town and I have found nothing to do but watch TV. lol which yes i realized is doing my weight no good at all. this is quite the life change for me and i was really looking forward for the gained weight falling off like it did when the now deceased doc Aceves did my original sleeve. So please pardon me, I will exit and do no more harm to your delicate sensitivities. I just have to make myself chuckle at the nastiness directed at me. I'd be willing to bet that if you actually met me you would find me quite fun and endearing. thats one of the problems of the internet.. very impersonal. But WOW are you quick to judge in a very mean and negative manner. Seriously, SO sorry. I wish you all the best.

Just a few words.... The sleeve is a tool, not a solution to weight loss. It's still hard work to ensure you eat healthily and smaller portions. If you eat fatty high calorific foods all the time still, you won't lose weight even with a sleeve. If you cut down portions and eat healthily you will lose weight with or without a sleeve. Exercise will help too. Even in a small redneck town there are footpaths so get out and exercise. If you're stuck in front of a TV, stick an exercise dvd on instead of sitting on your arse!

First of all to everyone that is getting sleeved by Almanza, I want to wish you all the very best of luck with your surgery. I have lost 31lbs. as of my 6 week out date and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. This was the best decision I have ever made for "ME" not my family or friends "ME". My 50th B=Day is August 29th and this was my gift to myself and I couldn't be happier. You can read my experience on my blog as well but please keep in mind any of the negativity was only due to one overworked nurse and then my own personal issues, really nothing to do with the Dr. A. or surgery itself at all.

Now as far as Miss Popsicle, the first really odd thing I found about her post is how she dwelled on Almanzas looks "who the hell cares if he has a 6 pack or scars or talked about himself. He tries to let everyone know he went through it and survived with excellent results. I find that alone very fishy considering he doesn't speak a whole lot of English. He then proceeds to tell what the surgery is about and asks if anyone has questions and then answers them. So where you find all this hate for him about that alone is very strange. Oh and BTW Popsicle he is very good looking and has a rock hard body with a six pack so God Bless. Maybe you were just super jealous of him and that's why you are lashing out the way you are. I personally found him to be very sweet.
Popsicle if that is what you are focusing on then you have more problems then I thought. I am sorry if you had a botched surgery but there is only so much a re-sleeve will even do. Get off your ass and start moving instead of watching television. No excuses you are now in California where the weather is amazing, try living in the NorthEast with 90 plus inches of snow over the winter and not being able to get out at all. Drink your protein, move, eat properly and don't overeat END and then REPEAT.

If you aren't a fake from another company please then realize how odd your post is going on and on about a deceased Dr. and how wonderful he was and then to just focus on Almanza's ego. Nothing about the Hotel, Hospital, Nurses NOTHING. BTW what color are the couches at the Hospital and I mean both sets. Who did your EKG and where did they bring you? Who drew your blood and where did they take you to do it? What type of staircase was there? If you can answer those questions in detail then people might believe you. Oh and who did you meet with for final payment?

Yeah...and more importantly...what color was the second set of bra/panties in the window of the lingerie shop next door....hmmmmm?

    Oh...wait....that was the old place.

I'd still like to know what color they are though....

Well....it's a joke. Since I am assuming you didn't have your procedure at the old clinic, you wouldn't know what I was talking about....but...the old timers would and they are spitting coffee onto their laptops as we speak.

The old clinic was in a strip center that had a Pittsburgh Paint store next door and a huge lingerie shop next door to that. In the shopping center next door was an Office Depot. No one told me about that prior to my showing up at the clinic door. Despite all of that, his clinic was the cleanest place I've ever been in.

Almost everyone who posts about Dr. Almanza here, does so favorably from a successful surgery with no complications and successful excess weight loss.
Some people may take offense at what you wrote because there has been instances of trolling, coordinators or people affiliated with a particular surgeon posting favorable/unfavorable things about the surgeon they represent/their competition.

Also, some people may take offense that you are saying some serious negative things about a surgeon who gave them a tool that allowed them to get their life back.

It is like telling someone who has an infant that is not exactly going to be entered in the most beautiful baby contest: "Your baby is ugly".
When you could get the same point across in a nicer way by saying "Would your baby like a banana?".

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.
