For those of us in the post-op phase - and that includes long-termers in maintenance, this is what I saw on another forum.
Makes sense to me!

This has to be the best advice for weight loss, controlling cravings and healthy eating that I have seen since I don't remember when.

Denzel, JERF sounds good to me.

There's such interest these days among people of all ages and situations in eating "cleaner." I'm reminded of several forum posters now in maintenance, e.g., Kacie, who have changed not only their own lives for the better, but those of family members by cooking and eating at home more than they used to do. And Kacie's whole family has also become more physically active.

It's wonderful to see the benefits accruing to loved ones, thanks to our own WLS successes.

I can't be bothered with the powders, sugar free syrups, nutritional bars and shakes. I still LOVE delicious food; Now, I just eat much smaller portions, don't have cravings and I skateboard now. (Okay, just kidding about the skateboarding )

I enjoy preparing all my own meals and mostly from 'scratch' although I sometimes buy ****** sauces. I don't buy organic, but I do buy fresh. I do what I can within reason.

I must say that after reading waaaaay too many articles on food, health, and exercise over the years...no matter what you eat, what exercise you do, or what you do optimize your health...some article or "expert" out there will tell you that you're doing it wrong.

As we've always been told, there's a balance out there we need to find for ourselves. I just don't think there's a cookie cutter answer for everyone.
