Default A bit of a blip

My MM recovery was going very well. Then Saturday in less than 20 minutes I developed a major hematoma...internal bleeding...in my breast. Breast almost tripled in size. Very painful, very scary. Surgeon had me gonto hospital for emergency surgery. I'm back to rest, drugs, and general blechiness. I'm not posting pic because it's pretty graphic. A good reminder that surgery of all kinds is serious business and even the toughest of us can have complications.

That sounds scary, Kristen! I hope that you heal completely and quickly from this.

I developed a seroma(collection of serous fluid- like the water in a blister- between skin and muscle and it has created a bulge just above my tummy incision. It doesn't hurt, but it means my tummy is not flat and actually looks like the early stages pf pregnancy. I already planned a revision in a few months if it does not reabsorb.

Having lost a large amount of weight already puts us in a higher risk catagory in healing from plastics. I knew this going in, but it still sucks.

I didn't know that, interesting. I hope your seroma takes care of itself. No more surgery!!!! (At least that is what my hubby says to me.) do compressions garments help for you? I'm glad you're not in pain.
