I haven't been sleeved yet, but I do picture in my head that I will be crying a lot with regret and stuff. My mom will be holding me like a baby haha
I had my sleeve at 19 and would do it all over again

Fun. You will know you are on your way to a whole new amazing life. I put my recliner in front of the TV with a little table for my protein drinks. I drank and napped, and watched a little TV if I had the energy. I took little walks. I wrote down my liquid and protein intake. Basically I rested for a week. I studied my information from my surgeon. The second week I upped my walking, and did shopping for what I would be able to eat. At 2 weeks I went back to work, and things went well. Every week was more foods added, until 6 weeks when I was cleared for all foods.

The most fun was getting dressed and finding out everything was too big. AMAZING! A positive attitude and activity will take you far!

I pissed off my nurses, every time they changed my IV I got them to let me walk around "for a bit". 2 hours after surgery I went on 2 mile force march :-) They thought I ran off:-)

You will likely be fine, not as good of odds if in America, but still good odds.

I'm not in the US, but I found it pretty easy. I had my husband on school holidays for the first week afterwards (he's a teacher, as was I pre-kids), which helped, and I struggled to change nappies on my then-18 month old for the first day or so, then it was ok. I had two c sections and found recovery from the sleeve easier (and I found the c sections easy), I was picking things up easily after a few days, I clding my youngest. I was tired after the surgery for a few days, and I had one incision that took six days to heal (only hurt rolling over in bed), but the rest was fine. Constriction and occasional nausea kicked in around three weeks post surgery, but didn't last long.

You can totally brush your teeth, I think I felt nauseous once, but for me, the nausea passed around week 3. And I barely get cravings now. I sometimes really want some mac n cheese, but as I hardly eat carbs now, I can understand that, so I indulge from time to time but I simply don't desire things like I used to, and I can take or leave food. You'll feel like a different person in many respects :-)
I never regretted it, and I've found it easy. Your tastes change, and it helps to also crest new habits, which again, I found easy to do. I have control over what I eat now, I never felt that before. And so many foods taste too sweet now so I avoid them.

I had a ton of ups and downs my first two weeks. The first three days I was on a high from surgery, but then it hit me. Although I had no desire to eat I cried because I felt like I was never going to eat lol. I was an emotional roller coaster and by day 8 I wanted to divorce my husband and said I never regretted anything more in my life (meaning the sleeve not him). Now I am all good, and eating lol. I still have my moments but even in those moments I don't regret it anymore. Just getting through that first 2 weeks for me was brutal. I had zero cravings, lots of moments of regrets (first two weeks only), of course you can brush your teeth and I highly recommend it , the gas wasn't bad for me just walk walk walk, and last not sure about the candy. If you have any questions though just ask. I am nothing but honest.

Hi, I had surgery last Wednesday. There were a few surprises for me. I was so nauseous I thought it would be forever. I didn't realize that would be as bad as it was/is. I'm keeping some fluids down now so I'm not so emotional. I travelled from Canada to Mexico and my husband went. I didn't really think it would be a big deal if I went alone but thank God he was there for me. I'm glad I didn't go alone. The travel home day was unbelievably bad and I wasn't ready for that. Today is the first day I don't think this was a mistake but I have to give it time for me to heal I guess. Just letting you know how I felt the last few days. The encouragement in here is great and I do believe it's going to get better. All the best to you.

I can’t speak to the travel part since I had the surgery in my town. But everyone is a little different. Be gentle to yourself and know that some parts of it will be the same as post any surgery but it’s not as bad as you sound like you think it is. I am 9 weeks post surgery and doing great. You will do much better than you think and we all got scared before. You will be fine and over time you will be glad you had it done. Prayers and best wishes to you.
