Dr Juan Corvala / Hosp Angeles May 2015

Recovery house, hmmm. Dr. Corvala is from all reports an excellent surgeon, years & years of experience & from all accounts I have seen he has an excellent reputation. Does this include surgery at Hospital Angeles as well as some kind of post op stay there?

My package was completed in December.
It included 1 nite pre op Hosp Angeles + 3 nites post op Hosp Angeles + 2 nites at Camino Real Hotel.
I opted out of Camino Real and stayed at Hotel Lucerna at my cost which was inexpensive.
Transfers to the airport and hotel was included. There was an onsite coordinator at the hospital.
My package cost $6500.

I understand that the hospital website is,offering $5800 but I do not know what that includes.
You have your own dietitian with follow up from the hospital and psychologist.

I would look at the Hospital package rather than get lumped in with patients from all,types of surgeons with B pal.
BTW, hotel was cheap. hotel Lucerna is a high end hotel and cost me at total of $217 for 2 nites including tax. I used hotels. Com

There is no full service hospital promoted by any surgeon that is at the level of Hosp Angeles. Extremely professional and can handle all,types of emergencies.
When I was there, Dr Corvala had an emergency at nite from a patient from another facility sent to Hosp Amgeles. I think it was a severe leak in a patient with major co-morbidities. I inquired but they told me very little more.

Skip the recovery house from b pal. Stay at the hospital and hotel.

Yes it does, includes Recovery H, meds, transportation, 2 year post op follow up and they use Hospital A...they told me I just need extra money for tips and maybe food at their recovery house, I really wanna go with him. I'll try to save more money or sell something lol, he has great reviews everywhere.

might want to check cost through Hosp Angeles directly. They seemed flexible with days at hospital and in my case hotel. If you could get 3 nites at hospital and one at a hotel.even on your own, you might save money and get the extra hospital care. Regardless, Hospital was excellent. Good luck!

well I guess they are doing things better now, cuz they are offering 2 days at HA, 2 days at their recovery house or hyatt if you request it and if you get there a night before, you can stay at the hospital... same price...(meds, transp, 2 year follow up) I think that is it...if and only if it takes me a lot to save money, I'll thing in a cheeper option

Hosp Angeles is offering a package for $5800 with Dr C. for 2 nites Hosp.
If it doesn't include extra hotel, that costs 75-100 per nite. I think they might throw in a 3Rd nite. Meds were separate cost thru hospital. I know someone staying at Hops Angeles for 5 nites for $6500 next week.

As long as you are having surgery with Dr. Corvala in Hospital Angeles, you are really getting one of the best options. Everything else (hotel vs. recovery house, extra nights, etc.) will really be about your comfort level and what you can afford to pay.
I stayed at a hotel the night before surgery with my husband and was glad I did. Two nights in the hospital was enough for me, I spent one extra night in the hotel and then saw the doctor before leaving. That was plenty of hospital time for me. They were very caring and qualified, I was just tired of being confined and being on an IV.

Hi: I'm with Corvala for five nights for 6500 but I booked before I think Hospital Angeles raised its hospital room rates in March or April. i know hospital angeles has their 5800 price for two nights in the hospital not including prescriptions or extra nights in a hotel but I would try negotiating with Kim Curren who is the coordinator at Hospital Angeles. I think you have the most negotiating leverage before you put down the the deposit. You could use the b-pal deal that is being offered as leverage. I think you would get a better deal negotiating directly Kim Curren who is part of the hospital and cut out the ************ middleman. It might be worth a try to negotiate additional hotel nights or nights in the hospital. Depending on how busy they are around the time you want to have surgery she might throw something in to get you to sign up directly with the hospital. Note that if you back out later you only forfeit 10% of your 10% downpayment or in my case 65 dollars.
