To everyone who has had a sleeve a while ago. It is hard to stay on track. As you know I have put on weight recently. It's scary as I don't want diabetes back

I am now focused and I am back on track. I am loosing again and getting fit. I am making this year about me.
Truly the gym classes and personal training is great. I have my diet app on my phone and I have my book for over eaters anonymous

This will encourage anyone in the danger zone that you can kick start your metabolism again

The hunger I had before Christmas is gone. I am not perfect but I am determined now to reach goal. I never did reach goal before

Watch this space and in a few months I will post the new fit me. For anyone at the same stage as me

Amen, sister! I am doing the same thing except that I not only hit my initial goal, but went under that weight. I tried on size 8-10 shorts last night and they were a little too tight. It's not the scale, it's the slacking of exercise that's caused a shift in my body, and that has to change. I'm going to Florida soon for vacation and will get in some walking which I'm hoping will "jump-start" me out of the winter slump and motivate me to exercise. Soon it will be spring, and the walking I love so now will begin again. "One day at a time" and remember how far you've come and how much you don't want to go backwards. Breathing and reflecting on what I want keeps me going some days. Continued success, you can and will do this!

I'm glad you posted this. I have been engaged in some dialog with a very newly sleeved person and their assertion that somehow veterans can't understand how it is for the newly sleeved because it's been so long since we've been sleeved was, in a word, frustrating.

I responded by telling them that the way I lived my life back when I was just starting isn't too far removed from how I live my life now. I still have to make choices every day to follow my plan. Notice I didn't say a plan. I said my plan. My plan, my way. I have to be resolved to eat a certain way, every meal, every day, in order to not regain.

I too am approaching three years post op, but, unlike you, I've managed to maintain my weight to my satisfaction. I know that my daily routine is one that will keep me at my current weight and I also know that any major deviation from that routine will result in weight gain. Your post is testament to that as is my own experience. So, all I can say is that I have a ton of admiration for you. It's obvious you invested the time in the beginning to formulate a plan that worked for you. Since you did that, you have the tools and experience to fix what is broken. Without that knowledge, you might just gain it all back.

Having said that, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you will get yourself back to where you want to be and you will be so much stronger for doing it.

    Good Luck!!

You go girl!!!! I'm right here with you. Would like to take off another 15 pounds and finding it very difficult. Had cataract surgery and haven't been cleared for anything more than a slow treadmill. Good Luck and God Bless...Mem

Way to go Mary! I have had my sleeve for over two years. I have not gained weight but I only lost 70 lbs and still need to lose 60 more. As soon as got back on track, I lost 10 lbs. If we follow the program, It will come off. I cannot exercise right not because I am pending knee surgery. I am looking forward to getting that done and getting back in the gym. Looking forward to reading more about your journey.

Its great to see everyones comments..I suppose what has kick started me to resume a healthy life style was realising I can't run up my stairs at home..oohhh thought you must be putting on weight..reality check was when I saw back fat appearing in the mirror..and no longer a reasonable flat stomach...( only have a flat stomach in shape wear)...now with a personal trainer and support from others at the gym I am much more active and also eating better..I also had my thyroid checked and had to increase thyroxine..its now slowly slowly chip away and be positive that I can do this ...
