Question 9 Days Post Op frustrated and backed-up

Hello I am new here hoping to get some advice and suggestions. I had the Lgs surgery 9 days ago and have experienced the worst back-up (bowels) of my life. Finally got things "moving" but I am tired of eating or consuming the soup jello and protein drinks allowed in this phase. Any suggestions for either of these issues? I'm also mentally not at peace. I have failed so many times, I noticed I can not take in about 11 oz... Which scared me. Will I still loose or is this going to me one more fail. Feeling frustrated still uncomfortable in the belly and scared

If you mean you can take in 11 oz. of liquid, the restriction is different when you get to solid foods. Liquids move through pretty quickly, but food does not. I understand your boredom, I was there and had liquids for weeks as I have a strict surgeon. Maybe different flavored broths. I know another person in this forum would get wonton soup and strain out the wontons. Popsicles helped me feel like I could "crunch" on something. Things get better and easier, I promise. I think my 2nd to 3rd week was mentally very rough as well. All the best to you!

Sum, just remember that this time of liquids is to give your sleeve a chance to heal. Whenever I got sick of liquids, I thought about my stomach leaking acid into my abdominal cavity and that pretty much changed my thoughts.

The idea of failing at this is super scary. I still worry about it but meanwhile i am 4 months out and 54 lbs down. We need to come to terms with accepting this as a permanent lifestyle change. I've pretty much given carbs up and work out. I've hit a bit of a stall now at 54 lbs which is upsetting but I also understand that I've lost a lot and my body needs time to adjust. The liquid phase will end. I ate a lot of broth and actually puréed a lot of foods to get different tastes during that time.

I got egg drop soup and strained it, when I was in the liquid phase, it was so good.

Isn't it crazy how liquid and even semi solid (and solid) are so different?! I would not have believed it until I experienced it too. You definitely didn't break your new tummy and it is working for you!
