    Default Really slow go

I am 6 weeks out from surgery. I lost 20 pre surgery and have only lost 20 since surgery. I actually gained weight while in the hospital having the surgery. I have gone up to two weeks with no weight loss. Feeling pretty discouraged.

Stick with it Trixie! You have lost 40 lbs in a short time, and that is a LOT of weight. Congratulations on your progress so far. We all went into this knowing it was a lifestyle change, not a short-term solution; so give it time. Everyone hits plateaus, and I'm sure the lbs will start dropping off again soon. I also actually gained 4 lbs from the morning I checked in for my surgery to the day I came home from the hospital. Physically, I know it's impossible, so I figured it was just all the IV fluid they pumped into me. Now I have diarrhea, and the fluids are leaving my body...along with the pounds I gained in the hospital.

How are your clothes fitting? How do you feel? Its all about your feelings not the # on the scale! I would feel the way you do but its true, we did this to get healthy!! Your doing marvelous! You gaiined in the hospital bcause of the excessive Iv n fluids! Get a good workout routine & drink your water!! You will lose!

    Hey Trixie
I am going into week 6 and in the exact same situation as you...I lost 15 pre-op and 20 in the first 2 weeks and I have lost nothing in the lost 2.5 weeks. It is so frustrating. I did expect to hit plateaus but not 2 weeks after surgery. I upped my water and protein last week hoping that it would help but still nothing. I also started doing 15 minutes of aerobics along with my walking and still nothing. I am just going to stay off the scale. It makes me want to get sick when I get on the scale and I am still the same....guhhhhh....who knows? Apparentlly the weight lost will start again soon. I can only hope......Let me know how you make out.............

I have noticed that my weight will go up and down every few days. I have also noticed it is around the time I have a bowel movement that I will lose the weight that I have seemed to gain. It's odd but makes sense. I'm just going to stick to water, protein and start getting my exercise on! I can't wait to see all our little pound trackers go down!

I was only weighing myself once a week. But now I think every other or so....I don't like the darn thing. I go by how my clothes are fitting. I only had big losses the first two weeks and since, on average 1-2.5/wk. So I just chalk it up to, the small amounts will just stay off. Any loss is good loss. Keep up the good work. It will happen...Just slow at times.

I guess that I am lucky so far. I have not had a slow period as of yet. On tuesday I will be able to have pureed food. I can't wait. My doctors say that if you hit a plato make sure that you increase your intake of protein. I know that they told me to get about 80 grams a day for now. That is helping me to lose more weight. Good luck to you all.
