i was hungry and thought the surgery failed me until i got to start back to solids at month two now that i am eating solid food i am finding that the hunger pain is no longer there so i guess it is just where you are not getting a satisfying meal having to eat purees and liquids and also i had some head hunger from previous eating behavior i had to deal with but that to is now gone just give it time it will go away after awhile

I was also hungrier before starting solids. Now I get hungry every two hours - seriously. I have read a few places that it could be acid and that taking your Prilosec will help. I need to take my regularly because I don't and I sometimes wonder if my hunger pangs are just acid in my stomach. I was so scared to be hungry at first because I was banking on not being hungry to help me. It's not so bad though, just make sure the food choices are good choices and you will be okay. Good luck!

There could be a couple reasons for hunger. I asked my surgeon Dr. Quinones and my PCP Dr. Diaz and this is what they told me.
    1. Light acid reflux can cause that hunger feeling, taking something like Pepcid or Zantac can take care of that.
    2. Your body is confused and needs to learn how to tell you your thirsty.
    3. Set up meal times in the beginning, for me that was 4 a day that were 4 ounces only eat then and treat my shakes like a meal. When far enough out do the 12 ounces shake as a meal but keep my food to 4 ounces. This will set up good eating habits and less chance of grazing. The rest of the time drink fluids.

When I combined all these things my hunger went away within a few days.

Gidday, cobber! I found I was hungry to start with, but that it lessened over time. Now I'm only occasionally aware of getting hungry, but it's very much an individual thing, I think. Try drinking more water - apparently we can often mistake thirst for hunger. It'll help you yo feel full too.

Way to go on the weight loss! I'm 7 months ahead of you and down 54kg. Never thought I'd be writing that! Welcome to the sleeved side :-)
