Default Tick Tock Goes the Clock, or; The Death of Pedro V. 1.0

    Hey Sleevers!!

So today I made another milestone in my journey, I paid off my surgery! The only thing left to do is to do it! I'm having the normal inhibitions about the trip and the surgery, but I cannot help but move beyond January 15 (also my birthday), and into the future, and find myself happier than I have ever been in my life!

I also made the decision to tell my Uncle about what I am doing. Since the death of my father, my uncle has been a father figure to me, as he took it upon himself to offer the same pieces of sage advice my father would offer. And to my surprise, he immediately told me what I was doing was a good thing, and that he will be making a trip down from LA to Tijuana to visit me for a day after my procedure!

So that being said, does anyone have any info on the hotel that Dr. Mario Almanza uses, or any other nice, nearby hotels where he could stay?

Ever closer we draw to the death sentence of the Pedro that walked this unhappy earth for 35 years, and on the 36th anniversary of the day of his birth he will be stricken from this plain, and from the ashes will appear his polar opposite, I like to call him Pedro V. 2.0! 22 days 5 hours, 45 minutes (or 533 hours 45 minutes if your into the whole smaller unit countdown!) until the funeral procession takes off from Cleveland.

Chin up, Chest Out, Brave Face on - Ever Forward We Go, One Step At A Time.

You've got this! Getting sleeved was the best decision of my life. Trust when I say that it is certainly not the easy way out but worth every pound lost and the closer we get to healthy. Love and prayers to you.

You should be able to google Hotel Ticuan in Tijuana and check out their website to get info and pictures of their amenities. It's a very nice hotel with very reasonable rates and a good restaurant to boot! Make sure when you check in to ask for a room away from the night life otherwise you will hear LOUD music from about 9pm - 6am. Trust me on that one.

Pedro, This process is so exciting & scary. You seem like a very conscientious person. Don't kill off the 1st 35 yrs of your life. As messed up as it is, our hardships give us wisdom & compassion. You are young & have a lot of happiness ahead of you. Your body will change, but keep the big heart & the winning personality. Good luck, Friend.

Pedro, like others here I wish for you the best possible outcome you could have from this surgery. I know you already know that "the sleeve is only a tool" and that you have to use it well. Like all of us, you'll have to LEARN how to use it well. And it's a fascinating learning process. But the sleeved life gives us who've long battled our bodies' and minds' compulsions to be heavy a real fighting chance. This time, it'll be a fair fight.

I just love your last paragraph and closing sentence. Almost reminds me of a phoenix rising from the flames. Great descriptive imagery! You're going to do such a great job. You already look like a cutie. And it's great you are doing this so young too. You're taking control of your body before it can completely take control of you. You've got a lot of discovery on the road ahead of you. Welcome to your journey! Best of luck to you and please drop by for questions or if you just need a pat on the back. Or if you want to scream, just come pound out some words here and vent it out. We all go through the ups and downs. This is a great support system. When you're feeling nervous and unsure about having your surgery, go look at my before/after pictures and imagine what you'll look like 6 months from now, a year from now, when you look in the mirror and half of you is gone!! MUCH less than a year. Imagine how your bones and muscles will feel when you DON'T feel pain! Imagine how great things are going to be for you and for those you love. You're going to do better and be better than you can ever imagine right now. I'm happy for you.

    Congrats!

You don’t have to be perfect. You just need to be better.

Good Luck I had my surgery with Dr Almanza on Nov 27th and would do it again in a heartbeat! I think they are using a different hotel now due to a fire at the hotel Ticuan, ask your weight loss agent they will be able to tell you.
