    Default The greatest holiday gift

What could that be for some people?
    A Porsche?
A date with Channing Tatum (that one is for you Toopie) or Halle Berry (that one is for me)?
Vacationing on a beautiful tropical island?

Mine is being able to be around longer to take care of my family and watch them grow up and have lives and families of their own, better health, lowered or eliminated comorbidities, better self esteem, knowing I am extending my lifetime (a longer, healthier and better quality life), NSVs, having the energy to do do things that require endurance, and all of life's simple pleasures, etc., since I started my weight loss journey.

Not that I haven't appreciated gifts that I received so far for Hanukkah (and will for Xmas), but the greatest gift of all is what I gave my family and myself, when I decided to have weight loss surgery due to the above reasons and more.

Although if I was single, driving around Fiji with Halle Berry in my new turbo Porsche would definitely be a close 2nd.

You made me gett all teary eyed it is so true I thank my 27 year old scared self for taking this leap of faith all the time because even thought i have had a whole host of other issues come up since weight loss I know had I not done this I would still be 300+lbs struggling and hating me for where I was. You are so right this is the best gift because we can be there with our families and for me I am not watching myself drag my family down the bad food road anymore, You keep it up you are doing great! Have an awesome day!

I hear you Scott. Right now, I am hoping for good health. I've been sick for three weeks and ended up back in the hospital. I feel I haven't fully recovered from surgery yet because I keep having these setbacks. I'm not complaining; I'm barreling through. But I would really like to be back to feeling normal by the end of the holidays. I am going to visit my family in Florida in January and I want to be well enough to enjoy my visit (I haven't seen them in 15 months).

My best Christmas present would be for my husband's oncologist to tell him at tomorrow's consultation: "It's a medical miracle! You have responded so well to the chemo / radiation treatments you've had thus far that your lymphoma is in complete remission."

So if everyone who reads this would meditate / pray / send us positive thoughts about that Christmas present, I'd really appreciate it.

The nice warm weather will be good for you. I am sure there will be a lot of jaws dropping when they see in person how great you are looking.

Goes to show we all have lives above and beyond the sleeve. I do meditate and strongly believe in healing energy and light and I will be sending beautiful light to all my sleeve brothers and sisters. I lost my partner in July and my 1st husband, father of my 3 boys is fighting cancer and not doing so well these days. The circle of life. Love to all.

I am hoping for that Christmas miracle for your husband.

I watched this on the news last night. A person's state of mind plays a role in the effectiveness of medical treatments.
I am not advocating prayer over traditional medicine, just staying positive can do the body wonders.

Thank you for your wonderful wishes, and to all who have inquired ... Hubby's appointment was rescheduled 'til next week.

I wish I'd been clearer in my earlier post that hubby actually has four more chemo treatments scheduled between now and the end of March, so it's not "logical" to expect a remission verdict before then. I only meant in my earlier post that it would be a true Christmas miracle / present if the oncologist would announce now that his lymphoma was already in full remission.

So I welcome miracles to appear on ANY schedule. I figure we have nothing to lose! I want to be outrageously open to remission verdicts, lottery winnings, and any other blessings that might blow out logic, averages, and predictions.

In the spirit of this wonderful season, I wish for my forum friends all the peace, joy and love you can absorb.
