nexplanon as birth control after vsg surgery ?

Hi I'm currently researching nexplanon. I have used the Iud and hated it(strings poked my husband, perfect for abstinance). Currently am using Nuvaring but am looking to change bc methods bc I have vaginal infection after infection. Let me kn know your experiences. my main concern is to continue losing weight and protect from pregnancy.

I've not used it, but I can recommend staying clear of Depo Provera. It caused me to put on 2 stone (when I was already obese! I naively thought I wouldn't gain any weight!) and has caused me no end of problems 9 months later. Check about weight gain and possible side effects with your doctor - I'm still working to sort my hormones out now and I stopped Depo in March. I had my tubes tied in April when I had my sleeve but I'm now on the Pill again just to sort my cycle out. Having three periods in a month is NOT fun!

I switched to the NuvaRing right after my sleeve, and as you said, it was an infection nightmare. I just switched to the mini-pill (I'm over 40) and will be having a tubal ligation on January 20th. It was an easy decision for me, since I know I am done having babies. My periods have always been normal, so the tubal is a good solution for me.
