Default 10 days post op and tender left side

Hi I'm 10 days out and my left side is super tender like pulled muscles or bruises.
I can't really tell I just know my right side has no pain. Is this normal or should I be worried? Thanks in advance

    Hi sugarbee,

Pain is never "normal." Call your doctor!

Definitely talk to your doc, but I remember having some pains on my left side that went away. Depending on where it is located...if it kind of feels like a sharp pain in the lower part of your lung, it could be atelectasis. If it is more like the left side of your stomach...you might still have a good bit of swelling still in there, and maybe the thoracic cavity is still tender from the surgery, or maybe it feels like your staple line is hitting something in there? Regardless of what it is, contact your doc, and ask him about it. Hope you feel better!

Well that may be a plus, I had atelectasis once, and man it sucked. I hope you feel better soon.

I experienced the same, and it indeed went away before two weeks passed. Just sore muscles...and that is the side that the stomach was removed from, so it saw extra trauma. I wouldn't rush to the doctor until it jas been a bit longer. From what you're describing, it was the same for me...bruised muscles.

    Congratulations on your sleeve!
