Default State Disability and plastics in Mexico????

I am 19 months out from my Sleeve and have my date for plastics in Mexico. Does anyone that has had plastics done in Mexico know how the state disability works? Does the doctor in Mexico fill the papers out Orr my general practitioner her in California?

I could be wrong, of course. But I'd be very surprised if any US state disability insurance would pay for cosmetic surgery anywhere, but especially out of the US.

Most US and Canadian folks go to Mexico for plastics because it's affordable down there and medical insurance usually doesn't cover it.
Outside of the country I doubt any insurance would cover it. Usually plastics anywhere is an out of pocket expense because it's done for cosmetic purposes.

If your asking that question to find out who needs to complete the paperwork to get your time off approved, it should be the surgeon performing the surgery. Because he/she would know how long they want you to be out of work. If your PCP is aware of what tire having done ask them what they think.

Had plastics in Mexico in Feb. I will also be going back this Feb. No one pays for plastics anywhere. If so let me know.

From what I understand the only way any insurance will pay for plastics is if the skin is such that it is rubbing and causing infections. I just had breast reconstruction done and it was all paid for by the ACA through the state - I am not on disability but as a small business owner when I file my taxes my business expenses bring my income down to the level that I qualify for state insurance. But mine was for reconstruction after a mastectomy not for purely plastics reasons. I'm pay for my own tummy tuck in December. It's actually just as cheap to do it in the states when I consider that it's local so no airfare, if I have complications which I did have with my reconstruction I had done in 2013 in Tijuana and had to go back 3 times, no hotel costs which I think is like 6 days for a TT in TJ, no meals being bought out of town and best of all I am in my own bed and home. I don't want to be away from home stuck in a foreign country for that long.

    AZladyrider,

You have probably already mentioned this, but where are you getting your plastics done? I won't be ready for 12-18 months, but am seriously considering it. We live in the same state, so I would imagine I would not have to travel so far.
